Following my heart, one book at a time...
<— A few early new releases that MUST be highlighted today, like that one to the left, and another new one that I’m about to start reading!! Actually it’s going to be a buddy read!
Maryse: Now… what should we read next? That Stuck-Up Suit sounds like a lot of fun…
Amy: OOOOH!! I just read the full blurb for Stuck-Up Suit and DANG! That one sounds goooooood. And it’s by two familiar authors so… You wanna read that one? Let’s!!! *claps hands and bounces on toes*
Dark Notes
My interest was piqued when I realized this was a student-teacher romance (although the blurb almost had me expecting a different kind of heroine). A different kind of dynamic between the two main characters.
But I became hooked when I sampled it and immediately experienced a very personal darkness to it. Lots of substance and a writing style that captured me right from the start. I devoured that sample and immediately one-clicked for more, because I just knew… this was not going to be a conniving “teacher-teasing” character. There was so much more to her.
Tee hee! I don’t even know if that’s what the “series” is called, considering each book is a standalone, but since that’s the name of book #1 and each book-hero sounds like a cocky bastard and that seems to be the theme of the series, so I’m going with it. 😉 For now. LOL!! Plus there’s even a book #3 on the way. YAY US!!
Oh!! I just received confirmation from Penelope Ward. She says:
“Yes! So, this is the Cocky Bastard series. It’s a series of standalones by Vi Keeland and myself all about different couples who meet during chance encounters. *There may or may not be more books in the series after that. But three for sure now!”
And guess what?!! Book #2 (Stuck-Up Suit) JUST WENT LIVE early (and the premise has me wanting to one-click badly!!). He’s gorgeous and she sees him on a subway, and he’s yelling at someone on his phone, and then he storms off but drops his phone… and she picks it up. Tee hee!!!
Emma Hart is well loved amongst our crew with other series, and then I found this one, and Tasha loves it!
Tasha: Love this series! #4, Tied Bond came out recently also. Can’t wait to read it! Great humor, romance, suspense, and mystery.
About book #1:
Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check.
That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator.
Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job.
MOVIE STAR/FAMOUS ACTOR ALERT! Book #3 was just recently released, and THAT is how I discovered this series! And it sounds pretty darn awesome. Good reviews, full length books, and it’s about one of our ultimate fantasies, so I can’t help but want to experience it through this heroine’s eyes!
About book #1:
A.P. Moore’s provocative romance throws her onto the Best Sellers list, but Alexandria’s life was far from the steamy pages of her romance.
Andrew Hughes, the most desired man in Hollywood was at the height of his career. Nothing could be better, until a chance meeting with Alexandria Moore that went horribly wrong. The man who had everything soon realized what Hollywood couldn’t give him.
