I absolutely LOVED this fun book! It’s freaking fantastic and for all of the reasons that we once fell head-over-heels in love with “New Adult” books. It’s got the “new adult” college insecurities, but with the engaging, smart and witty, yet VERY human characters. The mistakes made in search of having a good time, the consequences dictating their current outlook, their pasts that they are trying to overcome (but in this case… nothing TOO dark – just… “stuff” ya know? Stuff that we have ALL contended with). But best of all, it’s the awesome connection between all of the characters (old friends and new…). Lots of merging going on, but in a very organic, realistic way.

This is a different kind of “recommendations” list. Or… maybe a TBR list? Of books we are dying to read, but too scared to (for whatever reason, taboo, too scary, too sad… you get the picture).
I posted this on Facebook late last night and already have a ton of awesome book suggestions that have some of us too antsy to jump in, and yet those of us that HAVE read ’em are here to help! LOL!
I’ll start! Mine would be “Tampa” (it sounds too crazy and taboo and disturbing and so many er… “loved’ it, or enjoyed being psyched-out by it, but I’m scared). Also “The Empty Jar” ’cause I hear it’s ugly-crying from start to finish. My poor heart.

You just can’t go wrong with a beautifully written tale, penned by such an eloquent author! Amy Harmon is MUCH-loved in our indie book world, and this book is yet another example of her effortless ability to capture our hearts with her words. An author renowned for her captivating prose culminating into stunning stories, delivers, yet again.
I’d recommend this book to anyone, young and old. Such a battle to overcome (in various ways). So much hurt, shame and fear, and yet SO much love and acceptance. What a beautiful message!

You guys, this one was so very good! SO well-written (almost… tangible, real-life quality to it – as if the author lived these exact emotions, herself) traditional contemporary romance. Just pure instant-delicious spark (and yes, I KNOW that exists just with a glance – doesn’t mean insta-love but it does mean OMG HIM!!!!!). Followed by a sweet budding crush-type friendship and just enough angst to keep my heart (and my tummy) all a-flutter. Constantly.

I do love a good ghost story, whether it be ghost-horror or ghost-romance! I’ve read a few ghost stories that were full terrifying (evil ravaging ghosts) or… ghost-loves-human-gone wrong (eeeeeep!!), or ghost-loves-human/love-conquers-all (despite the er… “physical” differences). And I’m into ALL of ’em. I was anticipating that this one was going to tickle at least one of my ghost-fancies, for sure. 😉
But to tell you the truth, since I’m a romance addict, I’m a sucker for a true ghost-love story. Trying to overcome the obvious obstacles that a romance like that would face? SO FUN!! I mean, come on… did you see that gorgeous guy on the cover? Oh yes. I was SO in before I even started. Such promise of intensity.
