Great list! I have a lot of these on my tbr list and the new release, Within This Frame, is really standing out to me today. Maybe I’ll try that one. My last two 5 stars were After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. And these were weeks ago, and I haven’t been able to get into anything since π Talk about a funk…*sigh* It’s like a lot sound really good but nothing’s screaming loud enough: READ ME! Ugh I don’t even know what I’m in the mood for. I’m gonna try a couple samples and see if I get a bite. That book you reviewed not too long ago, Room, has been edging my curiousity lately so I’ll try that one too!
Maryse, can’t believe you have not read Withering Hope! I even had my husband read it. Move to this weekend. I know lots of good reads but I enjoyed that one. Not erotica, true old fashion romance with just enough of a different story line to make it an interesting page turner.
I’m on it Theresa!! It sounds exactly like what I’m in the mood for!!! Thank you for that. π
Tasha… *hug* book-funks are a pain! I know it…
But now you have me So curious about The Language of Flowers since I haven’t read that one yet. THANK YOU!!! π
Thanks Theresa, I’m gonna try that one now too! Maryse, you will absolutely adore that book, I know it! It’s one I will never forget. Forever favorite π
I was just going to u our FB page to rave about Talon when I saw you’d already put it on this list. It’s Book 4 of the Ashes & Embers Series by Carian Cole so after I was done I went on to read Book 1,2&3 Storm and Vandal & Lukas all really good books with awesome feels! I cannot wait for Ashers story!!
I read a variety. I like romantic suspense. The HEA with a story. Harper Sloan, K. C Lynn, Julie Ann Walker, Christin Harber all are good. These are my go to reads between the gut wrenching ones. Meredith Wilde- Hardwire, is good erotic with a good story line. For me some of my fav true romance authors are Liora Blake – True series, Claudia Connor Series. Emma Scott, have not read all but loved all I have read and plan on reading all. I like the biker books as well. I like paranormal as well, but less than I use to. So I mix those in. I also like series. I know the waiting!!!!!!!
Have read and enjoyed all of Alessandra Torre books except the latest scary ones- just can’t the get nerve for the erotic murderer .
Maryse, I have enjoyed allot of your recommendations.
Well crap, a bunch of the ones I was going to recommend are already up there…great minds and all that, right? π Sweet Gum Tree, Badger and Rush are all 5-star reads for me. I remember loving SGT before I found y’all, and I was SO excited when I saw all the love it was getting here!!
I’ll also second Fallen Crest (MASON!!!), Darkfever, Emi Lost and Found and Law of Moses…all of those are 4 to 4.5 stars for me.
And I’ll mention a couple that I found earlier this year that I’ve talked (gushed) about before which were 5 stars for me because of how *different* they were from my norm…Blue Plate Special (oh, my heart) and Lily of the Springs (loved, loved, LOVED it!).
And I’m soooooo jealous of Claudia that she has already read Versions of Us!!! I preordered that one a few days ago while pouting that I wouldn’t get it until next May. Lucky you, Claudia! π
Christin Harber has a boxed set for . 99. Her Titan series. 3 books and 2 novellas.
I really love Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series. Great series.
In 2015 I looooooooved:
The Little Paris Bookshop
Kitchens of the Great Midwest
The Storied Life of AJ Fikry
Church of Marvels
I’ll Give You the Sun
Mechanique
Speak Easy (and basically everything written by Catherynne Valente, ever)
Great list and lots of my 5 stars too! Many on my TBR list too! Whenever I see someone mention Rush, I just sigh…..i loved that book and the novella so much and will never forget it!
He’s a couple that weren’t mentioned that I 5-starred
Fisher’s Light
The Deal/The Mistake
The Summer Remains
Cocky Bastard
Ground Rules
Beware
Lev
Jezebel
Wither!!!!
Until the End if the World series
Hades Hangmen series
I know, I know, I’m a little out of control, but this list excites me!
Please excuse my typos!
Best of the best this year? Uh…. So many of my favorites are up there. I adored Law of Moses (An actual this year read), but the rest of my favs up there are from other years. π I still have to read the latest rocker book. Four books really stand out for me as best. Fear Me and Fear Us by BB Reid, Indebted Series by Pepper Winters, Breaking Him by RK Lilley and Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. All four were super good and threw my emotions everywhere. Of the HEA, the best of the best have to be analyzed as far as which is best. The really good ones make me want to spin and I did a lot of spinning happy this year. π
Magic Stars by Ilona Andrews was released yesterday. It’s a “new” series short story, but really a branch off of the Kate Daniels series. I’d actually say don’t read it until you’ve read the Kate Daniels series. Way too many spoilers.
Just wanted to give you one that I put on my best book ever shelf (which I don’t do often) and that not many people know about is…. To love Jason Thorn by Ella Maise….such a fun ,lol read and a FAMOUS HERO!!!!!!!!!!!
To add to the list!
Heaven and Hell Ashley, Kristen
Vampire Academy Richelle Mead
The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window Moseley, Kirsty
Love Me with Lies Tarryn Fisher
Of course those weren’t for 2015 but WTH I loved them so much I had to post plus I have at least 140 more *gasp*
I do not star, but I read 3 books recently that I thought were great. Didn’t want to stop reading til done. Lucky enough to read them back to back.
Simon vs the Homo Sapien’s Agenda.
Act Like It
Dumplin’
They’ll be on my year end list for sure.
I read a book a LOOOOONG time ago (OK a couple of months) that I absolutely LOVED but didn’t recommend because it ended on a HUGE cliffhanger. FINALLY the second book was just released this week and I read it in 2 days.
The first one is Forever and the second one is Blur and both are written by NA Alcorn.
They tell the story of Brooke, a beautiful woman who grew up with her younger sister in a neglectful home (parents are drug addicts) until her grandmother gets custody of them. She adores her grandmother, who has recently died. She is going on a trip to Paris for one month that her grandmother arranged for her because when her grandmother was young, she fell in love in Paris.
there Brooke meets Dylan. Total HOTTIE and musician. He’s funny and kind and they both love music SO much. If you are a music fan you will LOVE this series, because music is integral to the story. Throughout her month in Paris Brooke drops hints at secrets that she is hiding. She even hides her occupation from Dylan (she’s a well known record producer). But as time goes on and she falls deeper in love with him . . . . it’s harder to keep everything under wraps.
When the first book ended . . . . I. Almost. Died.
The second book was just as good. i love this couple so much! Their rapport, their chemistry, they way they communicate through music, the hot sex, it’s all there and more! I cried during BOTH books!
Allison, those sound great put them on tbr list. Did you see the ratings ?
Thanks
I think the first one had high ratings. I haven’t checked on the second one. Just finished it today.
Allison, that sounds so good. So the story concluded with book 2?
I don’t star the books I read (gonna have to re-think that for 2016). When I get time tonight I’m going to look thru the books I’ve read this year. I’ve read and agree SGT, Badger are 5*. Now to read one’s I already have on my tbr list- Rush, The Man I Love & it’s sequel. π
Cheryl, Rush is a must but you need the novella
after as well.
Cheryl, yes. Concluded with book 2.
My 5 stars read this year….
Rush, just beautiful.
Badger, heartbreaking and perfect.
Hollywood Dirt, sweet and sexy. Cocky Bastard, LOL.
Jessica Topper’s Louder than Love & Softer than Steel. Perfect to me.
Fishers Light, just beautiful
Spark. Made me cry.
Blurred Lines, friends to lovers perfection
The Mistake and The Deal
The Hookup, Friend zone & The Game Plan…loved them all.
The Five Stages of Falling in Love, sob fest.
Manwhore series.
And…
Before We Were Strangers…my most favourite book of the year.
Theresa, adding that one to my tbr list too. π
Allison, I one-clicked Forget & Blur and realized I’ve read and enjoyed the Infamous series by the same author. π
They sound great Allison, right in my lane!! Thanks for the recommendation.
Favorite book this year, hands down, without any question whatsoever? The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. I read it in the Spring, and I still haven’t found anything to match it. It changed me, and I will never forget it.
Thank you all for so much Rush love! I’m truly touched. <3
My dad has been very ill so I have a pretty extensive TBR list going right now with little time to read but I have been saving a lot of everyone’s 2015 recommendations. However, I did have time to read The 5 Stages of Falling in Love and it so far this year has been my 5 star fave. I highly recommend it!
Oh. Em. Gee. I’m preparing for an avalanche of peanuts. There are So many of those that I have not read. But I would like to toss my peanuts up for FCH and Badger. *nods* yes and definitely.
I’d also like to throw in a shameless plug for Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinner’s Series The Siren is the first… sweet merciful heavens, dark and twisted, I loved it!
Maryse
Just saw a post from Emma Scott, 3rd book in trlogy for Suanne Laquaur,
Here to Stay release January. 14, 2016. I guess I should read the first the first 2 you all are over the moon about?
I LOVE THIS!!! I’m going to make a whole new post with all of your favorites that you just listed. YAY US!!! π
Heck YES Theresa read them. The Man I Love and then, Give me Your Answer True.
AMY get on it!!!!!! These are FOR YOU (’cause you like the angsty crazy relationships like me!!)
Jean… Jean. Seriously. YOU.
EVERYONE. Read ’em!!!
There is also a giveaway on Goodreads for Here To Stay.
https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/165755-here-to-stay
Hmm. Maryse from your fb updates you are busy. Know what you need? An absorbing book to read. You know what’s an absorbing book…….;-).
LOL!!!!! I have one actually… that Withering one up there. It’s good, but I “programmed” my Saturday with morning stuff to do… and now I’m settling in with my book.
That said… Tee hee!!! YOU ARE SO FREAKING HILARIOUS and darn clever!!!!
Maryse, curious how you will like the book. Just finished Beautiful Insightful. Stayed up until 3- ugggg. Sweet story of kids from to two different social groups with HEA but strong message and sad story of awful crimes in our world that I for one can not even fathom of how people can treat others.
On to The Man ai Love.
Can anyone help me with a biok I’m trying to find? I cannot remember the name, but it began with the heroine and her best friend arriving at a bar in a small town obviously on the run from something. I think the h was even bit up a bit. They wind up staying and grtting jobs at the bar. The owner is a hottie and I think the h’s best friend ends up dating him. Then the owner’s brother comes to town and he’s super hot and brooding. I remember that he survived a tragic mass shooting as a teen. Any ideas?
Ugh typos.
*book I’m trying to find
*heroine was BEAT up a bit. Not BIT up a bit. Definitely not a vampire story. π
*oompf!!* Almost a year later and my heart still clenches when I hear Until the End of the World mentioned. Thanks, Jean…now I have a lump in my throat. π
Grey…hun…*puts arm around Grey’s shoulders*…we don’t “toss” peanuts around here. We THROW them! *nails Grey with peanuts* Those are for Sweet Gum Tree and Jezebel…those are MUST READS!!!
Maryse…how do you know I haven’t started The Man I Love yet? Huh?? Okay, so I haven’t *actually* started it yet, but it did win the toss up with Oblivion, so I’m starting it later on today after I finish cleaning out and organizing a couple of closets. I’m not supposed to have any alcohol for a few more days, but if I end up cracking open a bottle of wine because of TMIL then that’s going to be on YOU!!! π
Bev! I finished Jellicoe Road…it was SO good!! The “past” part of the story made my heart hurt so that was a definite plus. π
Bev! Where have you been girl! You were incognito all week!
Just finished Broken Juliet…..sigh…..loved it more than Bad Romeo but both were great! I cried a lot in the 2nd book….so many feels!
So, I’m ready to start something new… The Man I Love?? Should I join you Amy?
YES!
YAY!! I’m so glad you liked them, Jean! They had a good dose of turmoil, eh?
And yes, you should join me in reading TMIL! Come on, we can go hide in the blankie fort with a bottle of wine, some nail polish and the manatee! And no book guys allowed after all the licking and bickering from the other day, so OUT Travis goes. Sorry, Maryse. *smirk*
Oh! And look what I found for us…more lip pretties!
https://www.temptalia.com/sneak-peek-too-faced-melted-chocolate-lipsticks-photos-swatches
I’m in! I started it!
Huh. I see how it is Jean.
Amy, I’m glad you liked it. I like how she didn’t over explain. But let the story unfold. When he is jumping in the river over and over again.
Maryse, your sweet.
Allison,
You’re looking for The Beautiful Series by Christine Zolendz.
Brutally Beautiful & Cold-Blooded Beautiful π
Lisa, I love you so much.
That was driving me crazy! Thank you!!
Now I get to read the second one!
You’re welcome, Allison. π
p.s. I think I’d better go by Lisa K since I see there’s already an established Lisa. π
Amy, don’t hurt me!! I read both those… whew, I’m safe!
Ok struggling guys. Reading The Man That I Love. Really slow for me- someone tell me it picks up speed! Help!
Never been a big JT fan but loving this. One of those wish had the talent like these two.

Hello Lisa K. π
Anything Joey Hill, but especially Ice Queen/Mirror of My Soul. She has an amazing M/M read called Rough Canvas.
I’m currently rereading Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley for the umpteenth time, I tell you, this woman’s talent is limitless. I’ve loved every single book of hers I’ve ever read, I think I’ve read all but about 3!!!!!!!!
Hey Lisa! π
Hey Amy & Jean- I’m just finishing up the Never Over You series and then we are getting our Christmas tree, THEN I can start The Man I Love with you!! I think I’m going to need you, Manny, wine and the blankie fort for this one!!
Theresa, I think I heard that it starts slow but to stick with it. π
Yes, Bev! That is a great way to describe it. That part (when he was jumping out of the tree into the river over and over) was heartbreaking. And then…and THEN the author had to throw in the epilogue and poke at my already wounded heart because we know what comes next…WHY?!? *sigh* It was so good.
Jean and Cheryl…I started it!! π <—— See that, Maryse? Huh? Do ya??
LOL Amy!!! I do!!!! π
Lynne, I’m assuming you’ve read Golden Dynasty then? My absolute FAVORITE of hers. Okay, so I’ve only read like six of her books but still…GD is my fave so far!!
Yes, that was a bit unfair of the author. But her name, love that.
In the present day I liked how the friendships developed. But, ugh, when they go in search of her past.
I definitely want to read something else by her in this new year.
I’m going to start on #4 in Maryse’s new list up there. Sunset Park (Five Boroughs) by Santino Hassell. I recently read Stygian by this author and loved it. So I’m interested in trying another of his books.
Fabi you are always popping up with books & authors I never heard of.
Lol Bev. Here’s another for you (well, maybe for Tessa or Michelle, lol). I just finished reading They Who Fell and Chaos Umpire Sits by Kevin Kneupper. It’s a fantasy about an angel rebellion. After a short, brutal war, they are cast down from heaven. They burn and scar horribly on their way down to earth. It affects them psychologically as well as physically and they take their revenge out on humanity. A few of us fight back.
Ok Amy starting TMIL. You do have me curious about Jellicoe Road, although it sounds like another tear-jerker. π
About to curl up and read. But for moment ……slightly bored.
Is everyone off reading TMIL?
And why do we think Maryse hasn’t read WiR?
Discuss.
LOL!!! Hrmmm… why haven’t I read WiR? Why… why why why…?
I have NO freaking clue. I one-clicked it, right? Yeah…
Hi Bev. Think Im the only one NOT reading TMIL. Just finished third book in TM Fraziers King series which has another sequel…so not feeling book satisfied. And Badger which ruined me. And Illuminae which Im reading for bookclub.
Excuse my ignorance but what is WiR??
Think Im going to read Colleen Hoovers Nov 9 or Untamed. Two books I looked forward to being released but havent got to yet this year.
I think there is a third book in TMiL due? If that’s the case I’m waiting til its all released before starting.
What are you reading??
No idea why she hasn’t read WIR. It’s really a good book, and that little chapter teaser for the fourth really reminded me of its humor. I’m not reading TMIL. I got it, but I’m in a happy and humor book mood. All the books I’ve been reading, except for Final Debt, have been ones that make you smile big like this. π Right now, I’m reading the stepbrother book that Maryse recently mentioned and it’s… started. No opinion yet. I finished CM Owen’s first three books of her Sterling Shore series and they also made me π I think the holidays are affecting me. I want the next Others book, though. That teaser has me hooked.
What’s WiR!?!!
*grabs Tessa*
What’s WiR????
Oh, and Tessa Act Like it was a fun contemporary. Really enjoyed it. MichelleS might like it too. She likes the straight up contemporary ones sometimes. Great banter.
*deep breath*
WHAT’S WIR??
Lisa, WIR is Written in Red by Anne Bishop. It’s The Others series and super good.
OOOOOkayyy. I’m getting that WiR is something I should have read so before you revoke my Bookaholic status I’m downloading it this second and starting it. *shoves Nov 9 and Tamed back into tbr file with a huff*.
ROTFL at Bev’s reaction and Lisa’s quick action. π
Oh dear Lord…there’s like a dozen books in this series!!!! What are you starting me on??
Ooooh…but it has a wolf on the cover….Ok I’m not even reading blurbs or chat…I’m going in blind. Here goes……
‘Long ago, Namid gave bith to all kinds of life…….’
****BIRTH
Maryse…you really have to add an edit feature to this blog!
Duly noted, Lisa. π
*hug*
but sometimes the mistakes make for the best laughs!! LOL!
Damn, Lisa. I might just hug you for that.
Awkward.
Tessa apparently I bought the first one this summer, lol. I will have to bump it up.
The Sterling Shore series? It’s sweet. I love sweet right now. Also, funny. See, holiday cheeriness. I even got the Fern Michael’s series that was sixty something cents. I’ll get to that too. I need a lot of π
Lisa, you totally made my day. It’s so different and good. I hope you like it as much as we do!
Oh! I also got around to finally reading Debra Dunbar’s Demon Bound. *squees* New Paranormal series for me. I loved the big bad angel and her boyfriend is so weird it works. I think I need to get two. I liked it so much.
Theresa, I’m at about 14% and feeling your pain. So far it’s been slow, and somewhat confusing keeping straight who’s who in regards to the concert. I am hesitant to say I can’t wait until this picks up, because I have a feeling that’s when the sh*t hits the fan!
Tessa, that one sounds good. I just downloaded a sample.
The Imp one? Yeah, you’ll like it. Also, Wicked Magic (7 Wicked Tales Featuring Witches, Demons, Vampires, Fae, and More) is a multi book set that has that first book and the whole set is only 99 cents. π
Oh wow, thanks.
Did anybody else download the s*it out of Dear Professor before their eyes were fully open this morning? No? Just me?
I hope it’s as good as it sounds!
*one-click* Thanks Allison!
55% into The Man I Love. Are my expectations too high or is the last 45% going to rock my world? Just wondering…….anyone else with me on this book? Amy? Cheryl?
Oh fabi! I ordered Illuminae with that 25% off coupon code on Amazon! The hardback….because after all your raving and reading a sample, I knew I needed the real deal in my hands! Delivery is tomorrow! Yay!
Bev, sorry I dropped the ball on our BR of Bronze Horseman! I got caught up in Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet….and I totally blame Amy!
100 books.
*throws hands up*
Just finished A Desperate Fortune. Great read. Only problem is dual stories and she writes them both so well. I get sucked in to each and don’t want to leave.
squeeeeeee !!! Jean! I’m so excited. Wait ’till you get a look at that book. It’s a work of art.
Jean, I didn’t read it either.
I blame Amy, too.
Jean, that’s why I put that book on hold, I just couldn’t get into it and found the writing different so I’ll pick it up at a later date, maybe?!
However, I did read To Love Jason Thorn and it was exactly what I needed and I truly loved it. Now I’m going to try this Anarchy Found book, but what I really want to read is Project: Killer (Project Series #1)
by J.L. Beck.
Then you should read what you really want to read, Ela! π That makes for the most fun reading experience!
Agreed Maryse π I started Anarchy Found and am enjoying it so I’ll keep at it.
Maybe we should do a huge WiR BR??? I have it and haven’t read it either.
Oooo Ela, you have guts saying that around bev! Yes, you should all read WiR and then I will jump in when you start the 2nd book!
TMIL is absolutely breaking my heart right now…..
Ela, sit lets talk. π
Hey, you know who also hasn’t read it?
*whispers*
Lets all turn as one and stare at Cheryl.
Um ok??? *stares at Cheryl* *side eyes Maryse*
So it’s just us 3???
Jean, TMIL, when did it pick up for you?
*waves hand* Um, I’m one of the ones enjoying TMIL. No tears or heartache yet but I have a feeling it’s the calm before the storm. And I LOVE storms. π
And why the heck am I getting blamed for stuff??? Y’all suck, lol. π
LOL Amy!!!!
I’m getting side-eyes right now. Don’t feel bad…
Ela, I’m guessing somewhere between 55-60% mark. Something happened that made my jaw drop…..so did not expect that!
Amy, where are you in the book. I definitely had the sniffles a few times already!
YAY JEAN!!!!!
I WAS ROCKING BACK AND FORTH FOR YOU TO GET THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHH FINALLY!.
I too was feeling “eh” in the first half and then POW WOW WOWOWOWOOWOW!!!!! Enjoy the rest ladies. Ela… this one is YOUR kind of read. I won’t say why but I think it’s time you think about it.
Cheryl, Jellicoe Road IS really, really good. At first I struggled a bit with it because I didn’t know how to categorize it, I guess you could say, in my mind. I didn’t know if it was dystopian or mystery or what, but then as it continued I realized it was just a bunch of regular kids without a whole lot of adult supervision who are continuing an annual tradition of a sort of “war games” for territory…it sometimes gets physical and they take hostages to negotiate for territory, and they take it VERY seriously. Then there is the simultaneous telling of a story of another group of kids from the past, and THAT is what made my heart ache. Absolutely ACHE. The epilogue…oh, my heart.
By the way, it was a Bev rec. And Bev did good. π
Gotcha Jean! Good to know!
Jean, I’m about 40% in and so far so good. π
I’ll admit, however, that I’m not getting the feels I love with it being in his POV. I mean, I’m *getting* feels but not the kind I get from her POV as if it is happening to me. This feels more like watching from a distance rather than “living” the story.
And it doesn’t have anything to do with TMIL not being good (because it is!)…this is alllllllll me and my issue, ya know?
You just wait Amy. You’ll feel it.
And then HER POV. BEST.
Yes Amy, we ALL know about your issues! Lol! No seriously, I get it, but I do think all the characters are very relatable to real life! I was wondering if you’d have a problem with the male POV. Is the 2nd book her POV because I’m at a point where I really want to know what she is thinking!
Wow, I am just now noticing the follow up book to Hearts of Darkness which I LOVED!!!!! How did I miss that!
*flicks Jean’s arm* HA! How ’bout the issue of your arm stinging! π
Yep, Maryse said the next one is in her POV! Yay us!! I don’t know about the third one, if it’s going to be about someone else or if it follows the first two, but I’m not looking at the blurb so I don’t mistakenly spoil anything.
*ouch*…..haha!
Yep, I’ve been avoiding blurbs and reviews too!
Surely Maryse??? I am thinking I KNOW what YOU ARE trying to say π
So when’s WiR BR to commence???
Tee hee Ela. π
I’m ready. Maybe this weekend?
Gotta finish tonight and start book 2! I need her POV like yesterday!
Amy, I know. I had to stop and go read the blurb to orient myself when I started reading Jellicoe Road, lol.
Ela, in a time far far away, lol. But Lisa is reading it right now. But she is on Aussie time.
Oh, boy. I bought both of those books like a couple weeks after Maryse rec’d them *clears throat* but now not sure they are going to be bev books.
Don’t tease, Maryse. Amy will throw her *peanuts* at you.
Oooooh! Maryse and Ela reading WiR. I’m going to point out, Bev hasn’t steered anyone wrong yet.
Umm, Tessa, remember the lip biting incident? I am pretty sure it was both of us urging Maryse to watch The Princess Bride, lol. And I think there has been others.
Though I now think everyone should watch Sherlock. Now he is my type.
Okay, but that was a weird quirk! Written in Red and Princess Bride aren’t anything alike. The dislike of Princess Bride… a quirk. We probably watched it young enough to love it. π
Ooooooh Maryse…am I gonna get a feels smackdown soon from TMIL?? ‘Cause you KNOW I love gettin’ those. π
I’ll be honest…if I watched Princess Bride for the first time as an adult then I would be all “Whaaaaaa…???” But I think Tessa is on to something with the idea of watching it young enough to love it. I loved it when I watched it in junior high, and I still love it because it reminds me of being up all night eating strawberry Twizzlers and giggling with my friends who were just as awkward as I was. *snort* Who wasn’t awkward at that age.
Yeah Bev, I’ll just BET you would love to see me throw *those* kind of peanuts at Maryse. π
Oh! Speaking of 80’s movies…anyone remember Stand By Me? I loved that one too!
Honestly As you wish can still make me swoon, lol.
Ooh Tessa, I like that. If someone doesn’t agree with us they have a quirk, lol.
I do think Maryse may like Sherlock, it just is quality writing, acting, and production, Amy I think you would like it too, we have some shows in common. But I feel like, if she hasn’t at a young age, watched Labyrinth she should just to see if she bites her lip. And cause tis the season.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiXjbI3kRus
I have NOT ever watched Labyrinth…. and know nothing about Sherlock. π
Love that version. Labyrinth was definitely a perfect movie for a kid. I loved the goblin king and thought she was foolish for refusing him. Stand by Me was the beginning of my crush on Keifer Sutherland. lol Even then, I wanted the bad guy!
Well, side-eyes* Bev, hmmm Wir…
I’m at about 25% in TMIL, so not at the WOW point yet.
WELL….Bev Thankyou *squeeze hug* Great rec! WiR was just what I needed. Read til 4am then picked it straight back up at breakfast. I actally think I may have started this book once before back in my vamp/werewolf lovin days and dnf for whatever reason. I got to the parcel sorting part and recognized it. So glad I revisited.
I love losing myself in whole new worlds, words, folklore etc. It would be a great movie/TV series dont ya think?
That was quick! So glad/relieved you liked it. It is so hard to leave the courtyard once you enter.
I have to say I always find it disorienting when I feel I’ve read something before but can not really remember.
WiR BR weekend??? *side eyes Maryse*
Bev “in a time far far away” LOL….The weekend is NOT THAT far away…
OMG.
No, no, NO.
What the he!!. Just… What. The. He!!. Someone in TMIL needs to get cut.
I know, Aaron. I know.
Amy, are you done TMIL? If not, what percentage? I’m at 88% and feeling like I don’t know if I can go through it all again in book 2!
Jean, I’m at 59%.
I am just…I am…I am…ugh, I don’t know what the heck I am right now but it isn’t happy-go-skippy!
And I still want to cut someone.
I need to know how to make more faces on here ’cause right now I need an ANGRY one!!!
Amy & Jean, I’m at 99%. I know exactly what you’re feeling Amy. I suspected something obviously was going to happen to really irreparably f*ck up everything, but wow THAT, did not see that coming. Probably the opposite. Jean I’ve been feeling that way as I get closer to the end; do I really need to read her side and more importantly go thru it all over again?!
Maryse- is book 2 a re-hash of book 1, but just in Daisy’s pov?
STARTING WIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jean and Cheryl…I’m not going straight into book 2. I *will* read it at some point, but right now I’m in the mood for something with a different feel to it, ya know?
Hmmmm, since so many are doing a WiR BR, I might just start the second book…then again, I don’t know if I’m ready to be book-sexually frustrated right now. From what I hear, Simon just isn’t in a hurry to seal the deal. π
Amy, I totally agree. I couldn’t jump right into book 2. I felt literally drained from book 1 and the end was just too neatly and quickly done.
I’m reading Broken Promises…so far so good! I need to read the next WiR book too! But since buying King yesterday on sale, every time I open my Kindle, it’s screaming at me to read it! So I think that’s next right after BP. And I need to read it to get to Lawless so……
Jean, King is really good…I think you would really like it! The only reason I didn’t read Tyrant (book 2) when it first came out was because it was my own personal temporary boycott because of the CH in book 1!! MichelleS faced my wrath over that one. π
So now that you mention it, I think I’m going to go with Tyrant…unless I get distracted my another one when I open my Kindle library up. ‘Cause my book ADD is in full swing today. *eyeroll*
Alright, I’m going to try something…
:eyeroll:
No laughing at me if it doesn’t work, m’kay?
Well damn. It didn’t work. π
hahahahahahahahahaha
π
*throws chestnut at Fabi*
ouch!!!
Cheryl, it isn’t… because you know. There’s a whole different “life” and thought process and experience going on there…actually I enjoyed her book even more.
And there’s more to that ending, in HER book…
Thanks for that info on the 2nd book Maryse. If you jumped right into and loved it, that definitely means something! I will definitely be going back to read it!
