HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!!! I will have a calm-cooking weekend again (after running a few errands on Saturday), with plenty of reading throughout.
In fact, I’ll be cooking one of Mony’s “three things” from Monday (Mony’s Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls) since I have two heads of cabbage in my fridge that I had no idea what to do with. It sounds SOOO YUMMY!!
P.S. I posted her recipe down below our book finds on this post, in case you feel like making it too.
Mony: Made unstuffed cabbage rolls last night…easy peasy. Was very good.
Maryse: Ohhh unstuffed cabbage rolls would be AMAZING!! My mom used to make actual cabbage rolls often when I was a kid and I didn’t like them much, but I know I’d love it now. Did you follow a certain recipe?
Mony: Hey Maryse, on Monday, you asked me about the recipe for Easy Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls. …By the way, it’s gluten-free and keto. 🙂
Rochelle: Thanks Mony I will be making this is week!
Maryse: IT SOUNDS AMAZING!! I’m making it this weekend. Thank you my friend!!!! 😀 YAY!!! Thank you SO much. I have two whole cabbages in my fridge and now I know what I’m making this weekend. 😀
Also YAY Cauliflower rice!!! I can add that instead of real rice so I can remain Keto.

Michele G: I also read and enjoyed Casey McQuiston’s One Last Stop…it was very good but I still like Red, White and Royal Blue better…just my opinion.

Mony: I seem to be drawn to British romcom books these days. I love how the Brits turn a phrase, use more vocabulary & Brit-speak “luv”… 🙂
After reading You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, I read A Girl Like You by Emma Burgess.
It was a fun, light read…plus had a “love tutor” theme which I love. Naive girl in London & experienced kinda grumpy hot guy as her roommate. Gets better as the story develops…H is dreamy. Just what I needed. 4★
A couple more coming up…

Rochelle: Freed: Fifty Shades Freed as Told by Christian (Fifty Shades as Told by Christian Book 3)… I was so disappointed with the last two books and wanted to hear if any book buds have or are going to read this. The price is high and the few Amazon comments are coming in strong. 5 stars…

- Writing the Rules: A Fake Dating Standalone by Mariah Dietz <— RECENT NEWSLETTER SPONSOR & JR ENJOYED IT!

I hope to go back and read more of this college friend group!
- To Have and To Hold by Patricia Gaffney <— HISTORICAL ROMANCE & MONY 5-STAR LOVED THIS ONE!
Mony: A beautiful historical romance…new author to me!
To Have and To Hold by Patricia Gaffney – 5⭐
The story starts off slowly – you’ll need patience with the first 4-5 chapters. It’s a lovely complex slow burn romance between Lord D’Aubrey, an unrepentant and sensual rake, who rescues and hires Rachel, a recently released convict. She becomes his housekeeper at Lynton Great Hall where he becomes obsessed in controlling and seducing this beautiful “bruised” reticent woman.
The story is not only about how he changes Rachel over time – but about his own transformation and his intentions toward her.

Yes, thank you… but I also remember you nudging me to finish The Friend Zone! 🤔🤨🤣🤣🤣
I think you’re holding a grudge R.
Hey that’s 15 minutes on super speed audio I can never get back! 😆
I’ve been completely absent for a while…I feel like I’ve missed so much on here!! I obviously need to look back to Monday for some yummy recipes!!
I have to chime in about People We Meet on Vacation….Emily Henry is undoubtedly one of my favorite authors. I adored Beach Read. For me, PWMOV is probably my fave read of the year and that is saying a LOT because I’ve read a ton of very good books this year.
I also loved TJR’s Malibu Rising…I highly recommend it…but don’t expect a romance. It’s just all around great story-telling.
I also really enjoyed Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren! I can’t remember if I already popped in here to comment on it or not. Such a clever book and really well done!!
Just Last Night …that Robin mentioned below was phenomenal as well. Probably my favorite so far by Mhairi McFarlane!!
I also read and enjoyed Casey McQuiston’s One Last Stop…it was very good but I still like Red, White and Royal Blue better…just my opinion. It had a little more of a sci-fi vibe which some people may like and others may not…It’s inventive, creative and very well-written though.
Well, I think that’s my update for now…hope everyone else is doing well. I’m scooting off to check out the recipes. Have a great weekend!
I won Soulmate Equation from GR!
I was not a Beach Read fan but I liked the writing style so I’m excited about her new one.
That seems to be the consensus on One Last Stop. Not sure if I’ll try it.
Need to put Malibu Rising on hold.
Okay I need to add all of these new recommendations to today’s list. HOLY MOLY you guys!!!!
Emily Henry’s comment at the beginning of her new book was that Beach Read was for “her” and this one is for her readers….give it a go…I think you’ll like it …fingers crossed.
I will! I honestly can’t even remember what it was about Beach Read that didn’t work for me. I know many people had issues with the heroine’s entitlement, but as an only child, I kind of got that.
I LOVE this list!!!!
Yay! Glad to be of help!
Just some feedback on Freed. I’m not sure if I have gotten over the genre or what, but I read about 40%, still reading, but I honestly do not like Christian’s point of view. I really think Ana’s view made him the man we all fell for. There are moments that are worth the read but it’s just average for me. I do however think it would be good to read, if you have read the others, just to finally conclude the series. Sorry!
As we all know, I much prefer a strictly from the heroine’s POV kind of story (I get so much more attached… and stressed over the angst that way… not knowing what HE is thinking or feeling).
Thank you so much for your input on this Shaleen!!!
This is why I won’t read any more books from his point of view….I agree with your comment that Ana’s view made him the mad we fell for. Great observation!
man not mad…I hate autocorrect.
😂😘
Thanks for your comments. I think I will pass. Too many other TBR to spend time on a story we already. Know. I’m off to purchase Just Last Night.
I agree, too many good books to be read right now🌸
Omg Mr. Garcia was sooooo good!! That lead me to do a reread of Mr Masters & then the Stopover. T.L Swan’s books are the best. Never disappointed.
Can’t wait to read this one!
Alrightee…going back to try Jimenez again. I’ve been circling around Life’s Too Short…thank you RR & Michele ツ
I *just* texted Michele how swoony it is. I can’t put it down. I really liked The HEA Playlist, and think this is (currently) blowing it away.
Yay! I love you featured some of my latest finds – I’ve had such good luck lately! I finished another book I highly recommend: Broken French by Natasha Boyd. I was so invested in this story staying up way too late for a few nights in a row to finish it. I wanted to live in it – or at least visit the places they did while cruising around the Mediterranean on a billionaire’s yacht (even if he was a bit too grumpy). 4.5*
yay! me too…
Loved Broken French!!
I’m getting so many recommendations for this one, JR!! I’ll be adding it to one of this week’s lists with your feedback. 🙂 YAY!!!
I have just finished the conclusion (it has just released) to an amazing duet that I would highly recommend. It’s Torment by Dylan Page. It definitely has all the ‘feels’. I have a major book hangover now.
Ohhhhhh!!!! Thank you Jodie! I’m going to look it up right now!! 😀
