Maryse’s Countdown to Christmas Giveaways – 6 Days (and a few hours) ’til Christmas!!

By 130 Comments

6 days and counting until Christmas! *whooooops* I got so wrapped up in reading and wrapping (presents) that I missed an entire giveaway day yesterday. GAH!! 😉 So that means TWO giveaways today so that I can be caught up.

For today’s “Countdown to Christmas” I’m giving away a signed, personalized copy of A is for Alpha Male by Laurel Curtis (actually she will be giving it away and sending it directly to the winner) and ALSO another quick and easy giveaway for a $25.00 gift card to another lucky winner here today! (And I will also be making a donation to the “Wounded Warrior Project” organization https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/)

How to enter for a chance to win these gifts? Just leave a comment below and tell me your most memorable Christmas experience this year (so far – whether it be a crazy or fun shopping experience or an early surprise) and by tomorrow by 11pm EST (Thursday December 19th 2013), I will randomly select TWO winners (the first winner – essentially “yesterday’s winner” will win the signed book) and the second winner will win the $25 gift card. The winners will be contacted and once I receive a response back confirming the address information, I (and the author) will send off the gifts.

NOTE: The winner will have 48 hours to respond to the winning email notification. If no response is received, I will randomly select another winner. Make sure to check your email, so you do not lose your chance. This is open to anyone that can receive an emailed giftcard from either of these two companies.

I’ve been sent an exclusive interview with Alice Clayton about “The Redhead Plays Her Hand”!

By 1 Comment

Alice Clayton fans! On the heels of her latest “Redhead” book release, I’ve just been sent an exclusive podcast-like/video interview with author Alice Clayton and her narrator (and real life best friend!) Keili Lefkovitz about The Redhead Plays Her Hand!!

I LOVED the first two books in the series. The first one (The Unidentified Redhead <– my review) was hilarious and romantic and right up our alley! An A-list actor and a normal girl! I can’t get enough of those. The second one (The Redhead Revealed <– my review) was not only hilarious and romantic, it had angst! Real, honest-to-goodness romantic angst. Real girl feelings and insecurities that I could relate to, and was feeling right along with her.

And… I ended up loving that one even more, so you can bet I’m excited to see where it all goes with this 3rd book release!

Ready to listen to the interview?

Alice Clayton – The Redhead Series Reading Order

And don’t forget to check out another series that I LOVED (well, I’ve only read Wallbanger so far) 😉 but there’s more to come! Cocktail Series Reading Order

Alice Clayton – Cocktail Series Reading Order

By 5 Comments

<— Sequel to Wallbanger coming soon-ish!!! 😉 NEW FUN & SEXY SERIES ALERT!!! I decided to start this reading order off with a “bang”. Wallbanger, that is. 😉 I’m not sure yet, but by the press release, this new “Cocktail” series announces book #1 as “Rusty Nailed”. However since Alice Clayton just tweeted…

“You came for Simon, but you stayed for Clive. See what your favorite boys are up to next June in RUSTY NAILED, a sequel to WALLBANGER”

… I figured I’d start this reading order off with Wallbanger. First, ’cause it’s simply awesome, hilarious and romantic! Swoon-worthy (see my review – I 5-star LOVED it!). And second, to me, series are always best read in order for that full experience. So you get to know EVERYONE in the series as well as possible. Timelines and all that. 😉 So there you have it!

And these readers agree!

Deana: I loved this book, I laughed so many times!!! When the girls were getting ready for the party had me rolling. My family looked at me quite a few times like I was nuts. I reminded them laughter is good for the soul 🙂

Marissa: I read this in a day and I loved it!!! Funny, lots of chemistry between the two and a great ending!!

Tracy: Alice Clayton rocks! I just read Wallbanger and loved it..the witty dialogue and the smoking hot chemistry between Simon and Caroline did it for me…5 stars!

About book #1 (Wallbanger):

Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a Kitchen Aid mixer to die for, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, she also has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Every moan, spank, and—was that a meow?—punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has—yep, you guessed it—no O.

Enter Simon Parker. When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has…well…mixed results. Because with walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick. A delicious mix of silly and steamy, this is an irresistible tale of exasperation at first sight.

Roxie Rivera – Her Russian Protector Series Reading Order

What what whaaaaaat?? Russian alpha tattooed, MMA fighting/mob bosses/billionaires… this series sounds like fun! It has bad boys, bad guys and bad-asses!! YAY! How did I miss these? (*tee hee*) 😉 I’m so lucky I have you guys pointing ’em out!!

Nicole: I’ve read Ivan the Russian protector series. It was FAN Freaking TASTIC!! So I bought and read all the other books in the series. Major alpha males, very steamy and hot. I’m now waiting for the next book in the series.

Shirley: Roxie Rivera’s second book in the Russian Protector is out. Dimitri (Her Russian Protector). It was steamy! I think I liked the first one better (Ivan) but Dimitri was very good. Yuri is coming out in May and Nicholai in June. I am loving the Russian bad boys.

Georgia: I’m on the 3rd book .. of ‘Her Russian Protector”. This is one awesome and HOT series ! Thank .. You !

About book #1:

Desperate to find her sister, Erin goes to the only man in Houston who can help her–Ivan Markovic. The intimidating, tattooed Russian operates one of the most elite mixed-martial arts training centers in the world but it’s his shadowy past and reputed connections with Houston’s underworld that interest her most.

To find her sister, she’ll need the help of her big, scary Russian protector–but asking for help from a man like Ivan carries a steep price, one that might just include her heart.

S.C. Stephens – Conversion Series Reading Order

By Leave a Comment

Vampire lovers!! One of our very favorite rock star authors (Kellan Kyle anyone? *swooooon*) is releasing her extremely popular (on Fictionpress) vampire series on Amazon. It had been taken down awhile ago for editing and publishing, and for those of us that didn’t get to read it then, we finally get to now!

Victoria: HAVE to read her Conversion series. I guarantee Teren Adams (the main guy character) is as drool worthy as Kellen Kyle. Maybe not to the same level, I don’t know since we all have our own opinions, but he’s pretty high up there.

Happy: If you haven’t read the Conversion series and like SC Stephens, it’s a must read.  Maryse, I think you’d really like the series 😉  And I agree Teren is very drool worthy!

Yanira: The Conversion series is a great paranormal read and Teren Adams is one of my fave leading men ever, he’s the sweetest guy ever, no alpha there.

Zasshy: OMG – I love both Thoughtless and Conversion Books! Definitely in love with Kellan and Teren Adams… lol!  I read both series about twice each… cant get anough… they were just crazy crazy romantic….
I wish to find more books similar to these.

About book #1:

Emma is content. She’s got a promising career in front of her, great friends, and a pretty amazing family. But her love life has been a little lacking lately. That’s when fate steps in, and she crashes into a tall, dark and handsome man—Teren Adams.

He’s single, successful, an extraordinary gentleman, but he’s also secretive. And some of his secrets are more unusual than most people’s. For instance, he’s a “little bit” vampire. He has fangs, incredible hearing, unbelievable speed, and, on occasion, he enjoys drinking a steaming cup of blood. But he’s also very much alive. He has a heartbeat, loves steak as well as cappuccinos, and has no problems walking around during the day.

Since Teren acts human the majority of the time, the pros far outweigh the cons in Emma’s book. But when it becomes apparent that Teren’s condition is much more serious than he first lets on, and that being in a relationship with him requires more sacrifices than most would be willing to make, will Emma stay? Is love enough to compensate for a life that will never be anywhere near normal? But then again…what’s normal anyway?
