The Date: An unputdownable psychological thriller with a breathtaking twist
I couldn’t help but one-click this one when I saw the premise. A “blind/internet” date gone wrong, and it’s a psych-thriller, too??!!! MINE!!! All sorts of scenarios were running through my head. Would he be a stalker? Would he have a stalker ex? Would SHE become stalker-ish? Would he be some sort of underground serial killer, and yet the perfect boyfriend? WHERE could this go.
And this part of the blurb SOLD me on it.

Gosh darn it. I’m annoyed. Seriously.
Maryse: Okay so I’m just finishing a book and I have nooooo clue what is happening. I THINK I know… but OMG I have no clue, because right now? It’s just so crazy I can’t imagine I’m right??!!! I hope there’s a wiki that will tell me. Confirm it… oh my. OMG… am I reading this right???????
Maryse: Wait. Waaaaaaiiiiiiit. Wait. I don’t understand what I’m reading. Amy. AMY!!!! Anyone that has read Unhinged… please. I’m at the end. I don’t understand. *still reading and in sorta shock but not enough shock for all I expected*
Maryse: *hrmph* Yeah, no. I don’t get it. I’ll have to backtrack and do a search for a few names to find out how they factor into this story, so importantly in the end, ’cause I have no clue who they are and why they matter. And I pretty much read this one non-stop.

This was the beginning of something.
She’s the master of starting and ending a book. Her starts always have me hooked and already anticipating the angsty journey I’m about to embark upon, and her endings fill my heart to overflowing, with that huge smile on my face. But it’s the middle that makes it. It’s the realistic reactions, the fast, often one-sided, head-over-heels attraction, and the insecurities of falling for a man that has a whole lifestyle and demeanor that he’s not necessarily ready to change.
The Widow
BLURB JOLT alert and I got it on super-sale. I one clicked it SO hard considering some of the reviews and recommendations and I was dying to get to it!
bev: Maryse?? Have you heard of The Widow? Just saw a A review for it. Guess it is a psych/thriller/mystery type like Gone Girl and Girl on the Train. A bit tempted.
Leah: Just finished The Widow by Fiona Barton, a good one if you want psychological suspense. Her husband has died, but was suspected of *spoiler*. You start to wonder did he really do it? And then: did she have anything to with it.
Blink: A psychological thriller with a killer twist you’ll never forget
Killer twist, you say, huh? Oh yeah… those are magic words to me, ’cause I’m always in the mood to be on the edge of my seat, guess all sorts of things, think I might be right, only to have my jaw drop on the floor when the real reveal is let loose. And at this bargain price (at least when I got it), I one-clicked it SO hard.
Tanya: Blink is fantastic I recommend it…
Jean: I also loved Blink by K.L. Slater…..could not put it down! Had to remind myself to “blink” in the last 30% because I couldn’t take my eyes off the page! Lol
