Girl Underwater
A survival-against-all-odds situation merging into a potential love story that develops ever so subtly. So subtly, in fact, that while you have a feeling that a bond will be forged forever (an obvious bond due to tremendous circumstance), I didn’t became fully invested in them. Normally, a story such as this one would keep me reading late into the night, unable to put it down, but this one was… slow going. Hesitant, and confusing as we switched back and forth on the timeline (annoying me, because I KNEW what timeline interested me the most. And we didn’t spend enough time there for me to fully connect).

Book Review – A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
<— BLURB-JOLT ALERT! Yep. This one had an excellent, intriguing blurb (I could just feel the addiction in her voice, and knew I was in for trouble) but I one-clicked it as soon as I started seeing comments about how incredibly romantically angsty this one was. To the levels of Thoughtless, even (<— I already “got” what that meant) andΒ I could NOT resist.
My fellow readers were discussing amongst themselves (on the blog, and in my newsfeed) how they were in an ultimate fog after this one, and could not put it down, and how it twisted their insides the whole time. Oooooh yes. I was prepared for the book-heartache-ride of my life, and so excited!
Book Review – Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
Station Eleven: A novel
I backtracked to one of my older TBR lists and pulled this one out of the files. Having one-clicked it over a year ago (and having just come off the magnificence that was “The Martian”), I was in the mood for more of that insurmountableΒ “end-of-the-world/starting over” feel.
Jeevan was crushed by a sudden certainty that this was it, that this illness Hua was describing was going to be the divide between a before and an after, a line drawn through his life.
Book Review – Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan
Anti-Stepbrother
A sweet, lighthearted, slightly angsty new adult romance by Tijan, and my first “official” read by her. We have so many fellow readers that are Tijan die-hards here and on Facebook, and devour every single things she releases. I knew it was time!
Grey: *beep* *beep* *beep* This is not a drillβ¦ A new Tijan book is live, F*ck it babiesβ¦. mama is NOT cooking dinner tonight, I was gonna run my day down for you, but basically it was a lot of chasing my a$$ around with both hands and a map and not getting anywhere fast. But this has the potential to make me smile, and pull me out of my rut. So cheers to that friends!
Book Review – All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood
All the Ugly and Wonderful Things: A Novel
I one-clicked this one, price be damned, due to the HUGE love for it by many of my fellow readers, some of my favorite authors, and still… the buzz is getting louder.
Maryse: BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! I one-clicked it. I donβt even care that itβs not on sale. I HAVE to read this β All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. And Iβve started. And I AM SO IN.
Robyn:Β I knew you couldn’t resist…..me either! LOL
Misty:Β It’s worth the money!
