On Dublin Street
A review for this one, already? Didn’t I just start this last night? Yep! I was so excited about this book after the enthusiastic “Labor Day”  recommendations for it, that I ignored my TBR list and jumped on this one immediately. And it appears so many of you joined me!

Maryse’s Book Blog: You girls are just as bad as I am with your awesome book recommendations and making my TBR list build & shift like crazy. That’s right! —>  Just as bad as me! *silly grin* and I love you for it when you find me something that moves my entire TBR list down to move a book right to the top. “On Dublin Street” by Samantha Young. This is what I’m currently reading. Right now. As we speak. I am starting it! *squeeeee* read more

Book Review – Seduced in the Dark by CJ Roberts

Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet – book #2)
An incredible, well-paced sequel to book #1 (Captive in the Dark), and sorely needed. In fact, I think it made book #1 that much better. If you haven’t read the first one yet, avoid this review for now. These are very “dark” reads, so I suggest reading my review of book #1 to get a feel for it. As I was discussing these (and especially this one) with a friend, I described them pretty much like this:

“… these are not romance novels, but more like psychological thrillers (horror?) with a huge focus on evolving emotions, and heartrending situations…” read more

Book Review – The Dom of My Dreams by M.F. Sinclair

The Dom of My Dreams: A BDSM Novel
This is the one that kept me up practically all night last night. I’ve had it on my TBR list for what feels like ages, having heard about it in the past from other readers, so I purchased it, but didn’t necessarily bump it to the top of my TBR list. And then I received this recommendation by Stephanie…

“Please, please, please read “The Dom of My Dreams”  by M.F. Sinclair. I would love to see this writer get credit for a job well done.  If your in the mood for something similar to 50 Shade of Grey than this is THE book to read!!! read more

Book Review – Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers)
I wish I could post a soundbite here, because listening to me giggle, chuckle and belly laugh as I read this, would be the perfect way for me to review it for you. Sometimes actions speak louder than words, and to hear my giggle-fest would speak volumes. Alas… I didn’t record myself. *sigh* So words it is…

A fantastic lighthearted, witty, sarcastic (but sweet) read, in full effect! But there’s romance, too, and even a touch of angst at times, enough for you to connect and “want what you’re supposed to want”, when reading a romance novel. Plus. HOTNESS! It’s the whole shebang minus the intense book-pain that I crave, but definitely needed a small break from. THIS was the perfect break, the perfect “reading-palette cleanser”, and a great change of pace to keep me on my toes. I grinned from ear-to-ear from start to finish, and laughed out loud so many times, that I just HAD to read some parts to my husband (for example, Carter’s first drunken-bar scene… *woof* “Did I just bark?”) LOL!!!! I was a goner, then. read more

Book Review – Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas

Comfort Food
Okay, I’m taking us on a “dark reading ride” this week. With my recent Captive in the Dark “coming out” party, and my weekend “Slave/Need” reading marathon, I figured I’d go all out. ‘Cause you see, I’ve been carrying around a couple of dirty little reading secrets, and by the response I received for the “Captive” review, I see so many of you have, too. We really kind of like these reads, don’t we? 😉

Captive in the Dark was one of them, but THIS one was my first. I read this back in 2010!! I wasn’t anywhere near the BDSM reading genre, or anything of the sort. I was still in my full vampire reading frenzy when a friend recommended this one. She knew it was a risk (I was still “innocent” you see) but I think, after she saw my complete acceptance of Vishous and his own “kidnapping/BDSM propensity” with a few of those similar Stockholm syndrome themes, she recognized the possibility that I might enjoy this one. Warning me it would stay with me for days, and I’d be in perpetual confusion over my love/hate relationship with it, but because of that, she just had to tell me about it. read more
