Book Review – Losing It by Cora Carmack

Losing It (NOTE: this review was written around 1am – that’s how much I loved this book.)
Hey!!! Hey everybody. I just finished this book… two minutes ago. And I’m hyped. It was good. Great. No. Brilliant. Just perfect for me. Exactly exactly what I was looking for, and not what I’m usually seeking in a read (you know my usual… super-angsty, tattooed bad boys, rock stars or alpha men). This one had none of those and yet ABSOLUTELY thrilled me and pulled me right out of a slight reading slump. read more

The Sea of Tranquility
This one is easily going to be one of my favorites this year. And I mean TOP favorites. A subdued and somber story but with a great measure of warmth that took my breath away. I was absolutely and personally touched by the time I reached the end. Every part of me was wholeheartedly invested in these complex characters, and even the “normal” moments, and the facetious characters brought a certain depth to the story as a whole. It was… profound. The heartache tangible (and unimaginable) and yet… so real. read more

The Dex-Files (Experiment in Terror #5.7) —> slight spoiler alert!!! This book contains scenes from the series, but from “Dex’s” point of view. Do not read this review unless you’ve reached this point in the series. There is nothing better then experiencing “Dex” through Perry’s eyes… and then finally getting into his head after the whole shebang! WOW!!! Quite the revelation! Scroll all the way to the bottom for everything I’ve written about the series, so far. I LOVE THIS series, just thought I’d let you know. ;) read more

The Mighty Storm
*visible adrenaline induced excited-shivers run up my spine* See them? Whoooooo!!!! Is this going to be the first one of the year where I blog-scream again… “I found it!!! I found another one!!!!?” (okay many of us found it at the same time, considering we’ve been reading it together), but you know what I mean. I am absolutely adding it to my favorites list. And, we found what, exactly? Another tear-your-heart out book-of-angst. That’s what! Is it? YES!!!!! read more
