The Matchmaker’s Playbook (Wingmen Inc. 1) <— IN THE MOOD FOR LIGHTHEARTED & FUN ROMANCE? We love Rachel VanDyken and Cristina (she’s been with us for years now!!) LOVED this one!
How did I miss it? Well… since she sent us a recent AMAZING book review (and I’m reading that book as we speak) I just found this one (and a few others that she’s sent over), and I’m creating posts to her favorites.
I’m SO glad I’ve found them, and I’m so glad she’s with us.
Corrupt (Devil’s Night Book 1) by Penelope Douglas <— BULLY ROMANCE ALERT & THIS IS A BLAST FROM OUR BOOK PAST (this book was HUGE amongst our book crew)!! And, to bring it back to the forefront (in case all of our new fellow readers haven’t read it yet), I found another AMAZING recommendation and book review by Cristina that I had yet to feature and I am thrilled to have found it now.
I usually call them “mini book reviews” since they often come in as comments or quick emails (and this review below is a combo of both – Cristina left a comment on the blog AND emailed me because she had so much to say about it), but this one? This is a true big-ass review because she talks about the book, but mostly about her own personal experience reading this book.
Acquisition Series by Celia Aaron <— DARK ROMANCE BLAST FROM OUR PAST & another huge and awesome review from our fellow reader, Cristina (and Lisa M chimed in too)!!! If you love dark, edgy and being on the edge of your seat, this one’s for you!

I just read…no wait… I just DEVOURED this entire series in two days flat. If you are in the mood for a dark read, this is definitely it! WARNING! If you have certain triggers this may not be the book series for you, because it is certainly a dark read.
I Dreamt That You Loved Me: A Love Story <— ROCK STAR ROMANCE & Cristina absolutely 5-STAR LOVED THIS BOOK!!! WOW this is a world class recommendation and I couldn’t just leave it as a simple comment. It deserves its own post and so I turned it into a mini review.
To the point and so exciting and she says ALL of the things that I’m looking for in an angsty romance (and I totally get what she means, that after years of constant reading… if it gives us that old-school oomph, gut-punch & heart-feels, it MUST be amazing). She makes me want to read this book right now!!
It’s Cristina’s turn and I am LOVING her list! I need to get onto her absolute favorite of the year (that one to the left) ’cause I LOVE this author and all I ever hear is how amazing this duet is. I NEED TO GET ON IT!!!
But first… some fun “comment highlights” by Cristina over the last year:
I’m still pretty busy finishing house projects before Thanksgiving so my reading time is limited for the next few days. I just cleaned out my pantry last night after a trip to Costco. That seems to be the catch all place for a LOT of stuff. I do love how it looks afterwards though 🙂
