Lucy needs our book help… BIG TIME!! Not a ton of detail but maybe just enough to spark someone’s memory?

She asks:

Help finding a book

FMC and MMC have known each other a long time but she leaves and avoids coming home because she’s in love with him and there are issues.

She does finally come home though, I think for a funeral maybe.

I for sure know when she comes back, she finds out her brother is dating a girl that was mean to her in HS.

I’m all over the place but it’s been 2 days and I want to read this again so badly. read more

Jaymei needs our book helps and OMG YESSSSSS!!!!! I totally want a list of books like this. YES YES YES!!! Not the best friend, and not the anticipated “hero” of the story either, but the jerk of the story GETS HER?? YES!!! This is TOTALLY one of my favorite tropes.

I love hating on a bad guy, and feeling all of that angst and turmoil and trauma, and then whoooooops… he becomes THE LOVE INTEREST!! GASP!!!! And it has to be hard to get, for me, you know? Like, I especially love it when it surprises me, or when something happens that changes EVERYTHING. read more

Corrupt (Devil’s Night Book 1) by Penelope Douglas <— BULLY ROMANCE ALERT & THIS IS A BLAST FROM OUR BOOK PAST (this book was HUGE amongst our book crew)!! And, to bring it back to the forefront (in case all of our new fellow readers haven’t read it yet), I found another AMAZING recommendation and book review by Cristina that I had yet to feature and I am thrilled to have found it now.

Anu has a book she wants to find!! This sounds exactly like the books we were devouring back in 2016… and this trope is totally up my alley! Dark romance, bullies, rich boy/poor girl, then bad boy becomes protective… etc etc. YES PLEASE!!!

The book is about a young girl who is abused by her father. Her aunt comes to get her and her father thinks she colluded with her aunt and beats the living crap out of her. The father is into very shady business but well known she doesn’t report him as he has the police working for him, which she learned about when she called them the first time. Her aunt finds out that her niece has been beaten and can’t do anything to stop him as her father is very powerful. read more
