All of You: (InterMix)
<— Here’s one that I knew I’d probably enjoy, but I didn’t expect to thrill over it, as much as I did… and I absolutely loved it! I read it straight through from 9pm to 2am, and by the time I was done, I was actually still wide awake. Adrenalized. Happy. And from the start of it, I was excited. It got be from the very first pages, ’cause she was giving him sexy-eyes from across the room at a party, and he was so obviously… not interested.

Book Review – Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Me Before You: A Novel
Ohhhhh what a magnificently written, bittersweet, extraordinary story. Unforgettable, because it broke my heart… gently.
My friend Jackie (in England) was adamant that I read this ASAP. It wasn’t available in the US at the time (not even in digital format) so she MAILED me a print copy, and left me an urgent note. The way she was going on about it in chat, I knew this was going to be big. It was obviously one of “those” reads. Inspirational and deep, you know? I was excited, but you know me and physically holding an actual book. 😉 And this is a BIG book. Not just in size but in emotion, too.
Book Review – Risking It All by Jennifer Schmidt
Risking It All
Really good read that might have had me even more enthusiastic had I not been pouting at the price I paid for it. I mean, of course the price doesn’t make or break an excellent story, but… you know. It has to be excellent. I have to be pretty floored by it, to not blink at a significantly higher ebook price.
This one was… really good, and when a story is good, it’s so much easier to adamantly recommend when the cost isn’t so steep. Was it worth the price? Hrmmm… I dunno. Sorta. After all, I DID like it, and at times I felt like I was loving it (Memphis… the ultra-sexy alpha male absolutely had me). But while I found myself personally involved with this angsty love triangle, this book wasn’t an absolute stand-out for me. I’ve read this before… in one way or another (even if this one was a good version of it). There is no denying that I was emotionally connected. At times… I. WAS. MELTING! At others… I was exasperated. And then… hurting.
Book Review – Red Fox by Karina Halle
Red Fox (Experiment in Terror #2)
I’m DYING to get back to book #3. Eeeeep!! It’s scary!! But wait… I’m getting ahead of myself again! I promised myself I would be a responsible book blogger and write my review for book #2 (this one – sent to me by the author and boy am I thrilled she did) before getting back to book #3. My reward would be “treating” myself to the 2nd half of book #3 ONLY when I was done, so I better get a move on.
*grumbles* *stupid sense of responsibility taking all of the fun out of my non-stop EIT reading marathon*
Book Review – The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred
The Sweet Gum Tree
Another fantastic find that I’d almost say was a perfect read, except for the angry outburst I had at a certain “reveal” that I’m still pouting about. But then again, it’s that very outburst that helped me reach the pinnacle of my emotional overload, so for sure, it added to my reading experience.
Melissa left this comment/recommendation (and I wholeheartedly agreed):
“The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred…AMAZING STORY. Not really the bad boy type but I haven’t gotten that emotional over a book in a long time! It’s one of those laugh to tears and cry your eyes out type stories that kept me up til 4 am.”
