One Grave at a Time: A Night Huntress Novel
What more is there to say, since my last “pre-review” post. *sigh* It wasn’t bad. I mean, Jeaniene’s story building, characters and “paranormal world” are solid enough to make good books (even out of this boring one). Usually her books bypass “good” altogether, though, and are simply amazing! The dilemmas that present themselves in each installment are usually exciting, and the tension between the characters (whether they are in love or in hate) will turn your reading-world upside down.

One Grave at a Time: A Night Huntress Novel
Guys. Is it just me? I’m bored. I’ve been reading this book for three days straight, I adore Cat and Bones to death, and yet, I keep putting this one down. I’m only 60-something percent in. I’m bummed, because my favorite vampire crew have turned into boring ol’ super-sleuths. It’s a paranormal mystery, but that’s about it. Urban Fantasy (but it’s always been that). The story is solid, mind you. It’s got a bit of danger, a bad guy (or maybe two?), people to save, a problem to solve and an all-consuming, very important purpose.

Wow. I just realized the last time I played in the author blogs, and news stuff, was back in May!? What!? Could that be? I think so, ’cause I just realized, there’s lots o’ stuff going on with them these days, and I’m getting antsy for some of these books!!!
- Stacia Kane announced the title for Book #5 in the Downside Ghosts series —> Chasing Magic. She also provides us a link to a HUGE excerpt to her upcoming book #4, Sacrificial Magic (expected release date is killing me!! March 27th 2012) – whhhhyyyyyy!!!!???? (that’s in my whining voice)

It will be the last book in Eugenie’s Dark Swan series (book# 4) but it will be a HUGE book (since it covers material that might have made it into a 5th book). What’s in store for possible future “adult” series? She is kicking around a few ideas, but with the arrival of her new baby, things are a bit “up in the air” for now.
- Gena Showalter is working on a spinoff for her Lords of the Underworld series (angels!!)
“…all I can really say is that the angels will be at the helm, the first book will be released sometime in 2012, and the Lords will have cameos. We’re still hammering out a lot of the details.”

Book Review – This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 5)
Well…. I liked it. It was great to be back with the whole crew, and having Bones and Cat as the main focus was a plus. I cut my “paranormal teeth” (so to speak), on Cat and Bones, so I have a great fondness for these characters. This book had some SERIOUSLY outrageous, laugh out loud moments. Stuff that had me giggling and incited me to squee with glee about it with my fellow reading friends. And of course, Jeaniene Frost’s signature steamy scenes (well, only one of those, but it was very… inspiring 😯 )
