Following my heart, one book at a time...
This one’s for us CRIME bad boy lovers!! Bad boys? No. Maybe… “bad GUYS”. And book # 3 has just been released!! It’s MUCH loved!!!
Niki: I love this series!
Kathy: …I read the first book in the Last Hit Man Series. When you were reading that book, you could see the second book forming. I have to admit I one clicked yesterday on the second book and that is saying something when I usually don’t pay full price!!
Lori: I enjoyed Last Breath, almost as much as Last Hit.
Author Jennifer Loren is today’s featured “Book Bash author” and this new release just went live. The Laws of Kings sounds right up our alley! Mafia romance, anyone? 😉 She’s sent over the book trailer (linked below), the blurb and the book cover!
She says:
“…my friend Jared who has worked for HBO and Travolta on movies and some music videos for various artists, did this one for me… My book releases the 26th of this month, so right before BookBash. I will have 4 special “proof copies” available for BookBash only.”
<— I had quite the “hot under the collar” reaction to this “bad-ass” gang/cage fighting/post-apocalyptic book a while back (see my review), and so did many of you! In fact, your reactions had me giggling and blushing, and really, I couldn’t have said it any better myself.
Anne Marie: I just finished this book and wow! I’m speechless. I mean, yeah that was pretty hot. Lol. It definitely had me blushing. Another great read.
Lindsey: Omg! I’m half way through, and it’s an anarchical post apocalyptic slutfest. I love it. Thanks for another great reccomendation.
Mafia Captive
I haven’t read all of Kitty Thomas’s books yet, but I’m already a HUGE fan. There’s a certain addictive quality to her writing and her dark tales that ensure I will read every single Kitty book out of her repertoire (and the sooner, the better). I just can’t get enough. Plus!! She’s one of “my firsts” (see my review for Comfort Food – I had never read anything like that before and was torn as to what I was feeling). It was my first super-dark-read with a side of questionable romantic connection and unnerving emotion, and I was… bonding with the monster!!? I was experiencing Stockholm Syndrome via a book! GAH!!! I couldn’t believe it (and yet I was titillated!)
On Every Street (The Artists Trilogy)
(book # 0.5 in The Artists Trilogy – this “prequel novella” (lengthy novella at over 100 pages!!) can be read before Sins & Needles but was written after Sins).
Here’s a mini-review before the MAIN review for those wanting to go into this one blindly –> Nothing is really spoiled in the review below, but I do let on to something I had no idea would happen to me when I first read book #1. And I really enjoyed the surprise. So you can probably read this review below spoiler free (other than realizing lots of “crazy” has already happened in this series so far) that makes us flip-flop in our loyalties. But if you want to go into this not knowing a thing, I’d say just know that we’re loving this series. It’s an absolute thrill-ride and there are wonderful bouts of adrenaline and emotional surges. Sexy, steamy with moments of romantic intensity. Plus that initial deep-seated need for revenge that is making a mess of these characters.
