Following my heart, one book at a time...
Rachel recommends this one!
“… if you feel adventurous shifters unbound by Jennifer Ashley, … I absolutely loved!!!”
As per the author’s website:
Twenty years ago, shape shifters of all kinds banded together and announced themselves to the world, only to be shunted to areas no human wanted (“Shiftertowns”). They are forced to wear Collars that control their hunting and fighting instincts (referred to by Shifters as “Taking the Collar”)…
Taken by Midnight: A Midnight Breed Novel
Yup! I still love this series, and this book was great and exciting from the start. While the series is not my absolute favorite, I can certainly say that the books of “The Midnight Breed” series always capture my attention, I can barely put them down, and the series continues to get better as the story progresses. These “half-vampire” warriors are so easy to crush on. Their camaraderie feels almost as “real” as that of the Brothers in the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
Celia: Shelly Laurenston (aka G. A. Aiken) is also among my my favorites. Magnus Pack under Shelly Laurenston, and Dragon Kin under G. A. Aiken
Christine: GA AIKEN Dragon Series Books A MUST read…Awesome series…will have you laughing out loud
Maria: Dragon Kin books by her alter ego G.A. Aiken. I’m talking fall-off-the-couch laughing here, especially the further you get into the series. The family interactions remind me of the Bridgertons by Julia Quinn, only a little more violent and with dragon shapeshifters instead of English nobility. (;
Nisha highly recommends this author:
“… was wondering if you’d checked out anything by Shelly Laurenston? Her Magnus series is what I started with and I was H-O-O-K-E-D. Like Dark Hunter Hooked… Laurenston writes shifter books (… with lots of shifters, not just wolves) and they are totally HILARIOUS!! Her interaction between characters is so much like my friends and I, it’s scary!!”
About book #1:
How come all the good-looking ones are insane? That’s what runs through NYPD cop Desiree “Dez” MacDermot’s mind the minute she hooks up again with her childhood buddy, Mace Llewellyn. It isn’t just the way he stares at her with those too-sexy gold eyes-as if he could devour her on the spot. Or the six-four, built-like-a-Navy Seal bod-o-death. It isn’t even that he sniffs her neck and purrs, making her entire body tingle. It’s more about that disconcerting, shifting-from-man-to-lion thing that unhinges her…and makes her want more.
Thanks to Nisha for this series suggestion! (In fact, it appears to be lots of great reviews) – ya gotta love sexy shifters 😉
And here’s a little message from Lisa about how much she enjoyed these books:
“Hi, I just wanted to thank you for recommending the Magnus pack. I have read all 3 books in one week. I was not into shifters but I must say I am now and omg these book are very naughty.”
As per the author’s website (about book #1):
All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become Alpha Male of his Pack and to be left alone. What he definitely didn’t need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it.
