Lover Reborn: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood
I loved it. Well…mostly loved it. At times I was irritated because I didn’t think there was enough of what I wanted in it… *ahem* TOHR (and all things Tohr-ish). Annnnd, I had a harder time adjusting to the frequent storyline changes (3 or 4 of ’em going on at once). Just when things would get good (or bad-good)… bam. Switch to another story. A bunch of us were moaning a bit about that, but my friend Penny said it perfectly:

Book Review – Fury by Laurann Dohner
This one (book#1 in the “New Species” series) came highly recommended by my friend, Tina and I must admit, I loved it too. Interesting premise, awesome intensity between the two main characters, and some all-too familiar “social issues” were explored. And of course, he’s an uber-alpha. BIG TIME. Even more so then the alphas I’ve been enjoying lately, but there’s a reason why this one takes it a step above our “human” bad-boys. Because number “416” (later known as “Fury”) is not entirely human.
Book Review – Please Don’t Stop the Music by Jane Lovering
Please Don’t Stop the Music
Thank you Jennifer for this AWESOME recommendation! Another WOW book for me! I simply… LOVED it. I totally lucked out. How can that be? How can something this interesting, well rounded, heartfelt and heart wrenching be bargain priced?
I “pre-reviewed” it on on my Facebook page (I couldn’t help it!), and it looks like I’m not alone in my enthusiasm for it:
Maryse’s Book Blog: I’m reading a really good book right now. It’s witty and fast, and just good writing, but it took me a bit to catch the writing style (it takes place in England). Kind of reminds me (writing-wise) of Flat-Out Love & How to Kill a Rock Star. This too, has an angsty ex-rock star (and boy did the “reveal” surprise me!!) Very worthy of angst. LOVE this character. Overall well-rounded, excellent read. Not off the charts in romance (although there IS that), but just plain good anyway.
Book Review – Unleash the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Unleash the Night (Dark-Hunter, Book 9)
This book focuses once again, on the Were-Hunters, in particular, a Katagaria male (part human/part animal), Wren Tigarian. He was ostracized as a child, by both of his parents, for being born half snow leopard and half white tiger, and ridiculed for the difficulties he had achieving and controlling his powers.
Orphaned as a teen (and under suspicion for the death of his parents), now a sullen young adult, he resides and works at “Sanctuary” (a bar/hostel where all “others” such as Weres, Dark Hunters and even Daimons can temporarily co-exist in peace). Living a childhood without substantial emotional connection, and being witness to a terrible violence, he has isolated himself, internalizing his turmoil, and does not communicate with anyone around him. While he associates with only a few people, he has forged a delicate friendship with the barkeeper’s daughter “Aimee”.
Book Review – Dance with the Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter)
I am behind in my reviews again. Shame on me because this series is SO much fun, and they should absolutely be discussed. Unfortunately I like them so much, that I simply start the next in the series instead of reviewing the one I just read. I’m actually already reading Night Play (Book six), and am already hooked. That’s the thing about this series. Each book catches me from the start, and I don’t find my attention waning (as it sometimes does when I start a new book).
