Ahhhhh see? I’ve been asked this one a few times, and it was time to dig in. The Story of Son is one of J.R. Ward’s earlier vampire releases (it was included in the “Dead After Dark” Anthology in 2008 and has since been re-released on its own). And it seems like it could fit into our most beloved BDB series, but for a few slight discrepancies. I’ve been asked a few times if it was a part of the series and where it fits in the reading order, so I did a little research. 😉
urban fantasy
Reader Question… Solved! The book about the girl that works at a gas station, is saved from an attack and taken to a safe house
Rachel is looking for this one! Ohhhh a fantasy romance or urban fantasy series?? This sounds pretty awesome!
She asks:
Hi Maryse,
I am trying to remember a series. I think I actually found it on here, but I just can’t recall what is was.
It started with a girl who worked in a gas station/convenience store. She had a younger sister she was looking after. She also had a friend at the gas station/convenience store. One night a man came in and tried attacking her, but another man who had been watching her saved her.
Jennifer Estep – Crown of Shards Series Reading Order
OUR FELLOW HARDCORE FANTASY ROMANCE LOVERS are so into this series!!
Michele G: So, for my fantasy lovers out there, I just finished Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep. It was soooo good! It’s the first in a new series by her and has a really strong cast of characters. I listened to the audiobook and it was outstanding!
Tessa: Jennifer Estep’s Crown of Shards series? I’m want to say it’s her best series so far, but I’ve only read book one. … so goooooood! …The action is fast-paced. The only slow was waiting for the massacre to start. lol But, all the talk and such beforehand actually matters later, even the minor stuff. I love that nothing was actually wasted.

Tessa: Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep <— This is the one I got from San Diego and OMG, so goooooood! This has been a hectic week so I’m still not done, but it’s not the book’s fault. The action is fast-paced. The only slow was waiting for the massacre to start. lol But, all the talk and such beforehand actually matters later, even the minor stuff. K.F. Breene & Shannon Mayer – Shadowspell Academy Trilogy Reading Order
MUCH LOVED FANTASY SERIES and the trilogy is now complete!!! Relief if here for so many of my fellow readers that have gone CRAZY for this one!! 😀
Tessa: Shadowspell Academy: The Culling Trials by Shannon Meyer and KF Breene – These two authors together is a dream. The action was fast, the plot held tons of aches, family and friendship come into play… YAY! …it’s addicting and really good.
Robyn: I read book one and it was good.
Tessa: The Culling Trials 2 by KF Breene and Shannon Mayer. These two should work together more often.🙂 The second book did NOT disappoint.
