Following my heart, one book at a time...
NOTE: *for those of you who haven’t read the first two books yet — don’t read this, cause your not supposed to know this part yet.* Check out the series here: Jill Myles – Succubus Diaries Series Reading Order
Zane’s Tale: A Succubus Diaries Short
The perfect little short story to hold me over while I await the next installment in the series. Now, to be honest, it was over quick. But there is a part that makes you forget it’s almost over, and let’s you just live in that moment.
As per the author’s website:
Tough-as-nails bodyguard Celia Graves protects the rich and famous from ghosts, demons, and other supernatural entities. While guarding the prince of a tiny European country, Celia is caught in a vampire ambush that leaves her wounded and partially transformed. Now she has to figure out her new limits and powers, destroy her sire before he can control her, and put together the pieces of a larger plan in which she’s just a pawn.
I have yet to figure out exactly what Amanda Ashley books belong in what vampire series (maybe you can help)? This author is a writing machine!!
Amanda Ashley has written so many vampire paranormal romance novels, some are stand alone, some are part of an ongoing series, so I have decided to compile the entire list here (as per the author’s own list, in order, by original publication date). I will also include upcoming releases and any news of possible upcoming books:
Possible upcoming books:
Dark Legend (The Carpathians (Dark) Series, Book 7)
Another installment read, in my vast collection of Christine Feehan novels, and I found myself having a hard time finishing this one. What actually kept me going was my interest in the secondary character, Lucian. And from what I can tell about the next book (his book), I might have more interest in it, than this one
Gabriel and Lucian (twins) were both known as great warriors to the Carpathian Race. Legendary. Lucian, having already succumbed to the darkness (now vampire), and Gabriel (still without a healing lifemate), felt like he was quickly succumbing to the same fate. His only solution was to bind his brother to him and remain under the earth indefinitely in an ancient slumber. Thought to be long dead, Gabriel unexplainably awakens from his resting place. As he rises, he also senses that Lucian (his twin that he has forcibly locked in a restful sleep) is also rising. Problem. Gabriel must hunt and destroy him at all cost, a promise he made to Lucian long ago.
Dark Fire (The ‘Dark’ Carpathian Book 6)
I decided to go “old school” this weekend, and pulled out something that I knew was going to be an easy, quick, and romantically satisfying read. This one’s going to be a quick review, because after book #4, when it comes to this series, it’s essentially pretty much the same story over and over again,
That said, I am still utterly compelled to read each one. Of course, not all in a row. That would be maddening. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed books one, two and three (and sorta, four, but the repetition was getting to me at that point, and when I was done, I threw it across the room, out of frustration). What I do like about these books is that they almost always involve a human female, and the intensity of the love that the Carpathian make develops for her is just so…amazing, sigh-inducing, heartwarming. It’s just a non-stop deluge of love and passion. If you look at it from a different perspective, however, it’s also quite creepy. If this were a human male acting this way, people would be telling her to RUN! But whatever, he’s an ancient, powerful immortal, and well… just go with it 😉
