No Mercy (Dark-Hunter)
This installment in the Dark-Hunter series (sent to me by the publisher) was entertaining enough, but unfortunately not one of my favorites. While it was action packed (practically non stop from the start) I found myself almost winded with the main character’s constant struggle to stay alive. The romantic angle was nice, but there were many missed opportunities where personal moments could have been expanded upon. Deep and personal conversations, revelations, and quiet moments (as there have been in past books in the series) might have helped me “feel” the characters more, and believe their connection. It almost seemed like the majority of the heartwarming or sad moments happened when the main characters were apart. Despite that, they managed to fall in love anyway, so…that’s good 😉

So…I know. I’ve been whining about the direction the last two to three books have taken in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Despite my pouting, we all know I’m dying to read the next one, and the details were released last week. Hey! Where was I when all of this was happening? Oh right…I was dreaming about turkey 😉
So here are the details I was able to amass. I’m also adding extra stuff about her novellas that will also be released shortly, and anything else relevant to the progression of the series. Got more info? Let me know and I’ll add it here.

As per the author’s website:
In a world where being of mixed-blood is a major liability, Sabina doesn’t really fit in. And being an assassin – the only profession fit for an outcast – doesn’t help matters. But she’s never brought her work home. Until now.
Highlights From Last Night’s J.R. Ward Chat – Part 2
Now…onto the part that made me squeal in delight!
J.R. Ward gives us tidbits into her upcoming book Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 9). No real spoilers, of course, but enough juicy detail to make you really ponder what’s coming…
(Side note: Lily…brace yourself. Your two favorite characters in this series – V and Butch – appear to have some integral moments in this upcoming one).
My first hint to something really important was when Jessica revealed that the end of this book made her "weepie", and J.R. Ward said:
