<— I fell in LOVE with this book way back in 2011, when I first discovered the wonderful world of indie “new adult” romance. In fact, I read this one just days after my love affair with Travis, and while Travis was (and will forever be) my #1, I five-star loved this one, too! It’s SO good, so well written, so witty and the romantic tension is sweetly intense. And then… the twist!! *oomph!!!!* I spent another few days in a silly-sweet love haze after it, and this became one of my “Maryse Indie Classic Favorites”. 😉 Just check out my review and you’ll see! I’m assuming all of us have read this one by now, but if you haven’t, it’s a MUST READ!!! And now, we have TWO more books (Matt’s & Celeste’s) to enjoy!
Archives for May 2014
I love today, ’cause it’s my own personal “treasure hunt”. I gather the newest adamant reader recommendations, plus I get to scour through many of the “new-to-me” recent releases that I missed, reading blurb after blurb, looking for that *jolt*. 😉 And YAY US!! I think found us a bunch! I listed these below, ’cause they sound like they have that *oomph* potential. Some gave me serious blurb jolts, and all sound right up our alley.
Changing Course (Wrecked and Ruined)
I just LOVED IT! I knew I would. I knew it. I loved it so much that I even told my husband all about it today as we were driving home (I was at 75%, and it was all I could think about), and he thought it sounded incredible, too! He agreed… this guy? Total hero. The minute we walked through the door, he handed me my iPad and said:
“Get to your book! I wanna know how it ends.”
Yep. This was right up my alley, and totally right up his, and you know I love a book when I go into detail, recounting it to my husband. I don’t do that for all of them, ’cause I know his attention span is a bit er…. eye-roll-ey. *giggle* He can only tolerate so many of my… “and then… this happened! And then… that happened!!” before he tunes me out completely. But I knew he’d enjoy my retelling of this one.
Bikers meet Mafia series! Mob princess has to go into hiding with a motorcycle club!!! Two of my favorite “bad guy” worlds mixing into one!!! YAY ME! Sounds like guilty pleasure fun, and book #3 was just released!
Georgia: Just started RIDE by JC Emery. What a beginning .. I’m already hooked. I may need a box of tissues for this series. I’ll keep you posted.
Anna: Just finished Ride (Bayonet Scars). Loved the mafia world meets biker world. Will definitely be continuing with the series. This one ends on a pretty crazy note.
MMA FIGHTER ALERT! Latest (and final) release in this series just went live so I thought I’d post the series reading order. This serial-series (approx 100 pages per installment – actually a little over that) is now complete with the latest releases of book #5, and it’s got a ton of really great reviews! MMA fighter, rescues the girl, and trains her? Sounds right up my alley!
About book #1:
Colt McClure is a rising MMA fighter out to prove that he has what it takes to be a champion. Jo is on the run from her one terrible mistake. When Colt drags Jo from a brawl with street thugs, he recognizes her potential as a female fighter. But as they begin her training, their desire for each other sparks a love affair that could jeopardize them both.
