Book Review – Flesh by Kylie Scott + A Book Giveaway!

By 84 Comments

Flesh
Flesh in every sense of the word. A fast, fun, and occasionally frenzy-inducing read, but what made this one click for me, was the intense personal connection. Especially in the beginning. In fact, I “felt” it so quickly, that I let y’all know in a pre-review that I was really enjoying this one, and I already knew “Flesh” was worthy of recommending. It captured me right from the start, and Daniel did not disappoint.

This is a bit of what I was hoping (am still hoping?) that I might see on “Walking Dead”. And while I love that show, it’s missing a bit of that romantic edge. The romance is hinted at, but doesn’t quite satiate my need for romantic relief in a time of absolute desolation. read more

Elizabeth Hunter – Elemental Mysteries Series Reading Order

By 13 Comments

This series has come to my attention very recently. Book #1 was a freebie (might still be!) and it seems to have spurred on some very enthusiastic recommendations!

Suzanne: “There’s one series that I just finished reading by Elizabeth Hunter that I loved called the Elemental Series”

Jodi: If you haven’t read the Elemental Mysteries you need to. It has an awesome series. It has a Bones and Kat (Night Huntress) feel to it.
Great read..

Sharon: The Elemental Mysteries series is FAN FREAKING TABULOUS!  I read all four books in literally 3 days flat.  I could not put them down.  I recommend them to anyone who enjoys YA angst and vampires! read more

Currently Reading… Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

Undeniable
<—– Wow, another one that has me jumping the gun with a “currently reading” post. It’s morning and I stayed up until 3am on this one and still have a bit more to go. Did I dream of it? Oh yes.

This is one that has been trickling into my “suggestion box” over the last week or so, but pretty much exploded the suggestion box, yesterday. Here’s a sample of one of the numerous conversations taking place about it.

Jillian: Just finished Undeniable. Wow. Uh, not K.A. is an understatement. Makes Tack look like a kid compared to Deuce. Madeline Sheehan was not joking about this book not being for everyone or showing the ‘ugly’ side of life. Heartbreaking, ugly, gritty, raunchy, angst-ridden, and yet in the end… beautiful. … Madeline Sheehan is the author. The age difference only bothered me at one point. Other than that I was fine. But I realize other people may feel differently. I was impressed by M. Sheehan’s writing. There are definitely cringe worthy parts in this book – but somehow it all comes together in the end. Well, for me it did anyway! 😉 read more
