Night Embrace (Dark-Hunter, Book 3)
Wow! I really see what all the fuss is about! This series is fantastic, and anyone that is tempted to judge whether to continue with the whole series or not, from the first book, shouldn’t. While I enjoyed the first book, and was happy to see the characters from the first book continue on through the series, the series most definitely took a more serious turn.
I’m not sure how many will agree with my opinion here, but, I think it’s fairly obvious that if you’re looking for a series similar in tone, to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series from J.R. Ward, this is it! The characters are rich, and all are interwoven in some aspect. Each book allows us to experience the connection between an amorous pairing, but better yet, we are offered the intricate stories of the many characters’ pasts that has ultimately lead them to their current situation. The continuous growth and wisdom that develops through the centuries, for each Dark-Hunter, makes for an alliance of members that complete each other. read more

Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, Book 2)
Book two changes in tone slightly, from the first book. While the first was more of a “guilty pleasure” involving two people indulging in each other (a romance novel with a paranormal twist), this one initiates us to a darker world, where humanity is constantly at risk. While the romance aspect of the story is forefront, we are taken on a dark journey through good and evil, and introduced to many key characters to come.
In the Dark-Hunter series, humans have a false illusion of safety, while evil rules in a parallel actuality right here on Earth. Night creatures called “Daimons” (soul sucking vampires) rule the darkness, and steal the souls of humans to extend their own cursed, short lives. read more

Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, Book 1)
This was a good start to a series that has been highly recommended. I will try to make this a quick review, while it is still fresh on my mind (considering most of you have already read this book). I’m so behind on this series, that I’m anxious to get started on the next, but not until I’ve given this one it’s due!
When I heard that these books were about Greek mythology and Greek gods, I really didn’t expect the setting to take place in “modern” times, so I enjoyed the little twist of ancient gods thrown into our current world. read more

I have finally acquired enough books from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s dark hunter series to get a good start on it (beginning with the first book, while reading it all in order). YAY! I also purchased the first two books of Terri Garey’s “Nicki Styx” series (so my reviews for that trio will be coming up soon).
