Whispers and the Roars
I one-clicked this one immediately on that blurb alone. Absolutely up my alley, and I can say that this author seems to venture into that murky-creepy-fascinating territory that I tend to gravitate to. I love exploring personal darkness, whether it be emotionally innate or environmentally influenced… or even just a bad-guy psych-thriller. My curiosity as to how these subjects will be explored, and how cleverly they will twist and astonish (and give me an adrenaline rush) keeps me hooked on this genre.
My Book Reviews
The Ultimate “Marmy” Book List – The best jaw-dropping, ugly-cry, super-angsty awesome reads!
I know… some of you are shaking your head, maybe even rolling your eyes and thinking,
what the heck is she talking about now? Her and her crazy made-up words.
What is a “Marmy” list?
Tee hee!!! *giggles with glee*
Some however, who have been actively chatting books with us for months, maybe even years now, know exactly what it is, ’cause it’s YOU guys that have dubbed these books the “Marmy” books.
Marmy books are those that my “book-twin” (Amy) and I always seem to love. Maryse & Amy = “Marmy” (ergo “Marmy” books). If one loves it, the other surely will. And generally, the more traumatic, or emotionally stunning, the better. 😉
Reader Favorites – Nay’s Top Ten Audiobooks
Nay is a recent addition to our very active “peanut gallery” (at least in her commenting and being silly with us… however we just found out she’s been lurking for years). 😉 LOL!
She just officially (publicly) joined us in October, in fact, but it feels like she’s been chatting with us from the start! We absolutely LOVE her! And I’m so glad she’s decided to join in on our book-fun, and let us know all about her favorites, too. She’s right there with us in loving the same books we do, but she has her own fun book-quirks and specialities.
Book Review – The Devils’ Cradle by Darcy Daniel
The Devils’ Cradle (P.S. It’s super-bargain priced today)
Such a crazy sounding SCARY blurb, and it had me one-clicking it as fast as I could go, back in April! And then it was featured in one of our “reader questions” (Reader Question – Answered! The book about the wife that ran away from her abusive husband with her child…) which brought it back in the forefront of my mind, and right to the TOP of my TBR list.
Lots of great reviews, and I was IN! This one sounded right up my psych-thriller alley. A woman escaping her abusive husband with her tiny son in tow…
Book Review – Too Late by Colleen Hoover

Too Late
HOLY MOLY that was stressful!!! The entire book… from start to finish had me on the edge of my seat, my stomach churning with nerves, and adrenaline coursing through my body, as I lived the slowly building nightmare with Sloan. A panic attack inducer for sure. Yet another one from Colleen Hoover that had me pacing and trying to catch my breath at 2am.
Pia: Asa, the hero, is just so bad – I mean really really bad in a bad way. I cannot say it often enough – read it read it read it ![]()
