YAY it’s Saturday which means it’s time for a new reader favorites list!! Aimee’s list is up next, and she provides us with some great insight as to why these are her favorite books!

A little about Aimee? She has been with us since 2013 and while she’s one of our more “quiet” reading-buddies, she jumps in every now and again, and has mentioned a few of her favorites in the past.

Book Review – Badger by C. M. McKenna

Badger
WOW!!!! This one tore right through me and had me in pieces, rocking back and forth. I was… melancholy. *phew*!!! I need a hug. No… I need TO hug. I need to hug Badger. Adrian. Every single character in this book. My doggie, a stuffed teddybear. YOU. 😉

And yet I loved every single second of it. 5 stars without a doubt!

I saw this one a few weeks ago upon it’s release, and it sparked my immediate interest ’cause I realized C.M. McKenna was actually one of my most favorite authors in the world, Cara McKenna. I knew I was going to be in for some magnificent story telling. Unique blurb, strange-ish cover, and a new “pen name”? What was THIS going to be about? I had a feeling I was about to embark on an incredibly emotional journey. And if I was lucky? Maybe even a love story, even if it wasn’t listed as a “romance”. read more

Book Review – Every Wrong Reason by Rachel Higginson

Every Wrong Reason (<— releasing this TUESDAY Sept 22nd – TOMORROW!!! :D)
Ooooooofffffff!!! OH MY GOD I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard for a book before in my life (and this isn’t a “death” one, I promise). This is all about life, and living… or trying to.

Anyone that enjoyed “After I Do” will get me, with this one. It has that feel, but I’m almost tempted to say, even more intense at times. Or maybe it was just me? This week? ‘Cause I could NOT stop crying. In fact, I think the last time it’s been this bad, was when I read The Host a few years ago… like many years and tears ago (and if you read that review, you’ll know how bad I was…). read more

Reader Favorites – Theresa’s Top Favorite Books List:

Oh I get a kick out of how Theresa lists her top 10! It looks like a top 10, but it’s actually a top 20plus, ’cause each section has an honorable mention. YAY US!!! Plus she gives us one from each genre. LOVE THAT!

She’s a fairly new member here (at least by way of the comments), but after looking at this list, I know she has GREAT book taste. Just like us! 😀

Book Review – Fugly by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Well this one, I must admit… I chose, by totally judging a book by it’s cover. Oh. And the awesome title. And the blurb. 😛 And, overall… it was pretty good, too! A light read, with a bit of angst, and steam, and OH NO HE DIDN’T moments. What made this one stand out to me, was how unique it sounded ’cause she was not your typical heroine in ANY way. Especially when it came to her appearance. The whole motto is DON’T judge a book by it’s cover. Clever author!!! LOL! read more
