Sherrilyn Kenyon’s “Infinity” is Being Released Tomorrow!

Yay! I’ve been waiting and waiting, following Sherrilyn’s website, absorbing all the details I can on Nick’s upcoming book (and he is most certainly one of my FAVORITE characters), and future installments. I love how detailed Ms. Kenyon’s character pages are.

Written for the YA market (Nick in his teens!!), this book is sure to stir all of us devoted Dark-Hunter fans.

The Darkly Luminous Fight for Persephone Parker
I received this book from the author, and I must say, the second installment in Percy’s saga is just as beautifully written as the first. Exciting, dramatic and romantic, it will take you away to a world of intrigue, while simultaneously having you laugh out loud as you bond with the jovial characters.

In the last installment, the mystery of Percy’s past was revealed, along with how she is emotionally linked to Alexi. The revelations continue in this book, uncovering details from how they came to be, and how The Guard has progressed through time. read more

Dead in the Family: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel
Welllllll…..I dunno. It’s got Eric in it. So that’s good. I love Eric. Any book in the series I will read – and overall, enjoy by default – as long as it’s got Eric in it. Other than that, I was left a little bewildered. The magic…where did it go? I kept wondering, were all the books in the series like this? Did I just not realize it when I first read the series, because I was so new to the genre?

Sookie appears to have lost some emotion. Well not exactly, but when Sookie appeared to have emotion, I never “felt” it. She’s nonchalant about Eric, Bill, and anyone for that matter. She’s quick to muse about her sexual attraction, and how important her friends are to her, but not about truly loving any of them. While it makes sense that Sookie’s emotional distance might be attributed to the trauma she has recently escaped from, I’ve found Sookie, as of the last few books, to be annoyingly unaffected despite some very earnest moments. read more

Book Review – Lover Mine by J.R. Ward

Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 8)
So I spent my entire weekend ignoring everyone and everything except for this book. I was hooked within the first few pages and could barely put it down. When I would walk away and *try* to get something productive done, I would find myself in a state of withdrawal…pretty much useless until I finished it.

I loved it! I loved how long it was, I loved how it seamlessly continued into the BDB world, I loved how there were four different stories going on at once, and I loved how J.R. Ward made us (and the characters) work to “get there”. read more

Book Review – Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione

Ecstasy Unveiled (Demonica series Book 4)
Excellent read, but I would recommend you read all of the others first. While I’m sure it works as a stand-alone somewhat, the characters in this series are far too connected, and each have a vivid storyline of their own. Not knowing them first (and the hardships they have experienced), would be unfortunate, because you’d be missing out on the maximum effect.

I found myself wanting to be a part of their family (uhhh…not that there’s anything wrong with mine, of course – love you mom! tee hee!). But you know…maybe the author can write me into the next one 😉 read more
