Reader Question – Is Aly Martinez’s latest book part of the Darkest Sunrise Duet?

By 1 Comment

<— SQUEEEEE!!!! Aly Martinez Alert!! THIS ONE JUST WENT LIVE!!!! And… by way of a reader question, the author gave me a bit of extra info about Across the Horizon, and the series it’s somewhat connected to.

Theresa: Is the new Aly Martinez in the same world with her previous books? Thought I read something but can’t remember. Says stand alone but think it is part of Darkest Sunrise? Help please.

Aly Martinez: Hey lady, so…yes. This book takes place in the Darkest Sunrise world. But it stands on its own. Tanner Reese is Porter Reese (the hero in Darkest) little brother and Rita is Charlotte’s best friend. They are first met as side characters in the duet. However this book is written as a standalone. read more

Reader Question – Looking for "Hallmark-like" Christmas book recommendations…

By 2 Comments

YESSSS!! This is a great reader question and perfectly timed, since so many of us are so into the Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies. Oh I have watched some absolute magnificent ones that stole my heart (that one with that super-hot Christmas ghost that was so ornery?!! *sigh* LOVEDDDDD!!!).

I don’t even care that we already know “how it’s all gonna go”. Done right, they are calming and heartwarming and festive!! It puts me in the right spirit! And Kim is looking for more (but in book form!). read more

Reader Question – The book about a girl that moves in with sisters & falls for their older brother who is in a band.

Oooooh it’s a love triangle!!!!! Shani is looking for this one, and I could swear it sounds so much like a recent reader question (so I’m going to search for it and see if they match up!).

In the meantime, Shani asks:

Hi 🙂

I’m looking for a book a read while ago. It was based on a girl that moves in with sisters (possibly twins) and she falls for their older brother who is in a band.

It is a love triangle story for the first book in the series, where her older brothers best friend says that he is in love with her. From memory her brother and brothers best friend come from a military background.
Second series in the book is based on the distance between her and the older brother due to touring which is done to help with establishing the band. read more

Recommendations for our favorite cowboy & rodeo star books…

By 9 Comments

When I started the “genre categories” section on the blog, I received requests for a “cowboys” section, so I’m on it (along with a few “reader requests” for cowboy book recommendations) Leslie (and crew) asked:

Leslie: We have a cowboy themed challenge for November and would love to hear people’s faves (and maybe even variations like country music star H, etc). Think you could ask around?

Ela: Also, to add to Leslie’s comment….some of us would prefer a book about riding a cowboy….preferably US…. Just sayin’ for a friend. read more

Reader Question – The book about the rock star the fell for the preacher’s daughter…

By 4 Comments

Tilly’s looking for this rock star series and there’s just enough detail to spark someone’s memory, I’m sure. Plus, no spoilers. Also… it sounds like she could be a sheltered heroine.

She asks:

Hello, I’m looking for a book series that I read sometime ago.

It was about a band. I think it was 4 books long and each book focused on a different member of the band. Think they were based out of Portland (aren’t they all 😉 ).

I distinctly remember that one member of the band went to a rehab “ranch” in Texas and ended up getting together with the local preacher’s daughter who was a singer. read more
