I had an AWESOME reading week, and my reading weekend promises to be just as amazing. I still have my “J’s” to read —> Jake (from Wethering the Storm which is bargain priced!), and Javier (Shooting Scars). What!?? I know, right? Two of my favs… TWO books heroes that I have given 5 stars to, in past installments, and I still haven’t had my dates with ’em yet.
What am I waiting for? Er… I dunno? Have you ever done that? Anticipated a book release so hard that when it finally gets here, you… stare at it, but don’t read it right away? I’m conflicted. I want to read both equally, but I’ve decided to save them. Kind of… “the best for last”. My “cherries on top” of my amazing reading week. So I have my book-date nights with them tonight and tomorrow. I’m saving them for my weekend, when I don’t have work and responsibilities interrupting with my reading time. I can stay up till 5am if the books hold me that hard, without worrying about book-zombie consequences.
Plus… some Javier-ish reader-reactions have me nervous. I hear he’s even scarier… I’ve been enjoying crushing on the “bad-guy” so much, and I’m afraid this one’ll make me switch teams. Eeeep!
Oh and!! I’m finishing one up today that will be released any day now. Probably tonight. And so far, it is soooooo good and from an author(s) that I have 5-starred (for past books), too! 😉 You’ll see. Fantastic writing, and a forbidden kind of love that we enjoy, but mums the word from me until I now it’s live. 😉
So now that you know what I’m up to, reading-wise, here are everyone’s ebook bargain finds and book suggestions! Plus a few of my own, below. 🙂
NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order.
Latest reader recommendations and bargain ebook finds:

- Every Rose by Lynetta Halat <— I recommend this one, too! Sweet, heartfelt and sentimental, and it made some of us “ugly cry”. (my review)
- A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers <— okay I don’t think any of us have read this one yet ’cause it’s still in pre-order status (coming out on September 17th), with THAT crazy synopsis, I just had to include this as what I think (so far) seems like quite a bargain book find! (check out the trailer and my book synopsis breakdown here).
- Beyond Pain (Beyond, Book Three) by Kit Rocha <— just released today! (thanks Kelli!!) A bit on the edge of what I consider “bargain priced” but still within the realm, and I LOVED book #1 (sooooo steamy). I still have to read #2.

Javier… In the meantime, you can check out my review of the prequel (LOVED!!!) and book #1 (so good!) Oh!! But Karina Halle just came up with a special treat saying:
“So, since there are no Javier POV scenes in The Artists Trilogy (Bold Tricks is back to Ellie’s)…I was thinking. IF SHOOTING SCARS gets into the AMAZON TOP 100 this weekend, I will write one or two scenes from Javier’s POV and share with you all on my website. Not sure which scene(s) yet but I’m leaning toward the one where Javier would have found out “who” Eden White REALLY was and what Travis had done to her. CAN YOU IMAGINE?!”
- On Every Street (book # 0.5 in The Artists Trilogy) by Karina Halle <— So while I’m at it, I figured for those of you who aren’t familiar with this series yet, (my review)

- Fierce/Unstoppable Bundle by Ginger Voight <— here is the series Kelsey is referring to bundled and bargain priced. Janet agrees with Kelsey: “I just finished Fierce and started unstoppable. I tried to wait for the 3rd, but you know how that goes. Hope it’s not a huge cliffhanger–it’s making me crazy enough already It’s so good!!”
- Groupie/Rock Star Bundle by Ginger Voight <— and here’s the series I was referring to (in my review). Bundled and super-bargain priced! Quite the angsty roller-coaster ride. There are very few books I give 5 stars too, let alone 4 stars…this one, for me, was a 5 star read. Definitely add to your TBR list”
- Unbeautifully Loved (Breathe Again) by Emma Grayson <— recommended by Melissa “I’ve got a great book for you…. it has the perfect trifecta….sex (über steamy!), intrigue, and a twist that you don’t see coming. It is Unbeautifully Loved by Emma Grayson. AND it’s a standalone; no cliffhanger for once! Cheap too…”
- Rogue Rider (Lords of Deliverance) by Larissa Ione <— I LOVED this author’s “Demonica” series and this one is from the spinoff. (thanks Aimee!!)
- Paradise Taken by CM Hutton <— (thanks Aimee!). While I’m not a huge fan of the cover, if the synopsis is anything to go from, I think I might like this one! She couldn’t have foreseen how a chance meeting or a single day can change the course of an entire lifetime.”

“I love two men…
I think. One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire.
One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite.”
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who likes Javier (using the term like loosely). he is bad, well more bad, since we saw him in On Every Street but I still can’t help but partly root for him, like there is still something not that bad underneath…I almost wish there were two Ellie’s, one for him and one for Camden! I’ll be watching for your review to see what you think!
Arsen is so so so so good…especially if you like emotional rollercoasters that completely mess with your mind:)
Lisa you’re killing me!!! I have my reading already planned out and this one sounds like it’s totally my thing, so now I want to read it now! I’m already squeamish over the potential love-issues, and that delights me. 😉
Lauren… I’ve had some team-changers (from Javier to Cam’s side) and some that are still on Javier’s so I’m keeping my mind and heart open… 😉
Hey Maryse!
My book, Pregame, is currently on sale for only 99 cents!
You should totally read it now…it gave me that The Opportunist/Thoughtless kind of heart dropping into my stomach feeling.
Ohhhh yes. I want that.
I’m irritated (with what or whom, I don’t even know, lol) because I already have soooo many of the above titles, but I bought them at full price! I did pick up Arsen though, and my TBR list now has that one at the top. I am anxious/nervous/giddy to start it this evening. I need a good gut-clencher to start off my weekend. 😉 Oh oh oh – on an off topic, I had to pass this along to you, Maryse! Check out these swatches for the Sephora polishes I mentioned to you the other day:

And they are “bargain priced” as well right now!! *hee hee*
Maryse,
I can’t wait to read your review of shooting scars! I am Team Javier as well, I’m just not sure how I feel about Cam- even after this book. Happy reading! Excited to hear what you think.
Amy, if you bought any of the books recently you can “return” them on amazon and then re-buy them.
Forever black is a top read of mine! I liked the second more than the first! diid pick up a couple of others that look great! Thanks 🙂
Amy – I love ’em… but that pink is killing me!!! Mine!! 😀
Right now I’m sportin’ a clearish “french manicure” pink. That used to be my safety color before I fell for the crazy ones like this…
THIS is my current favorite (my husband chose it and I balked at it, ’cause I though it was wayyyy too wild of a color), but when I wear it, I feel so feminine: https://www.temptalia.com/illamasqua-harem-nail-varnish-review-photos-swatches
It pulls more on the purple than pink, but on me, it fits so well. 😀
LaurenB, that’s definitely something to consider. Thanks! 🙂
I love that color, Maryse! It is perfect for summer. See, you look all sweet and lady-like with your french manicure pink while I look harlot-like with Red My Fortune Cookie from this https://www.scrangie.com/2010/01/opi-hong-kong-collection-spring-2010.html on my fingers and Love Marilyn from this https://www.scrangie.com/2011/11/china-glaze-eye-candy-3d-glitters.html on my toes. I’ll have to tone it down before Monday. 😉
Holy cannoli I just finished Bedrock!!! OMG, talk about twists and turns!!! When I got to the end I was like what?!?!? Noooooo!!! That can’t be the end!!! Luckily there is part 2 coming in September! Omg! It’s like Love Square meets Fifty Shades – sooo good!!! 🙂
I read Why Romeo Hates Juliet last year. It’s a very good, fun read. It’s fairly long, but it would make a good “light” read after an “ugly cry” read.
Just finished Sins and Needles! Want to start reading Shooting Scars, but scared I will wish I waited closer to third books release!
Just started Arsen, 31% into it and loving it…I can already tell its going to be good.
please be nocturne that is the surprise release i have been waiting for that book for ages
Please stop making me buy books! Lol
Remember When by T Torrest is only $.99 this weekend too! Such a great read! This is book one of a trilogy, with the third book due late September. I dare you not to fall in love with Trip & Layla’s story!
Hi Maryse. I’m new to this blog & I love it. I’ve just read this awesome book & I would like to recommend it to you because it’s an amazing book & I hope you can give it a chance. It’s a second chance romance. They are married but separated due to some mistakes in the past. The hero & heroine are awesome. Sorry for my language since it’s not my first language. Thanks for this awesome blog.
Here is the book.

It 3am and I just finished reading Arsen, and let me tell you….ok, Well, I’m am literally speechless, I’m reeling and pulling my hair right now. It’s Thoughtless and Thief times 2. This book is that good and you will not be disappointed!
Hey Maryse…don’t forget Driven (book #1 of the Driven Trilogy) went on sale today to $2.99 to get everyone caught up for Book #2, Fueled, that releases this Tuesday 8/27…Driven, killer book, and Colton, *sigh*…
Wow!!! I just finished reading Shooting Stars. It was so good. I’m back to team Camden!!! Can’t wait for the next one in the series. Now onto Wethering The Storm I think. I downloaded so many books the last few days that you suggested. Lots of great deals. Love it!!!!
Sidenote to Maryse: Please remove this comment if it is too “rambly” or not the appropriate place for this. 😉
Maybe it doesn’t even really matter much in the big scheme of things, but I felt so guilty with the whole idea from above of “returning” books to Amazon that I already purchased at full price and re-buying them at the sale price. Why would I feel guilty? Because it is like I am taking the money right back out of the authors’ pockets just to save a buck or two. I realize that it would add up after about 30 books or so yet it still doesn’t feel right. I appreciate the suggestion, but I can’t in all good conscience do that to authors who have put their hearts into their work. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.
I’ll have to check out A Little Too Far. My dad was a catholic priest…chew on that one for awhile!! 😉
Whoa! Rachel… that should be a book! What? Craziness!!! I mean to me… Catholic Priests are… untouchable. Different. Kind of not human, ya know? 😉 LOL!! Yep, can you tell I went to Catholic school all my life?

Finished Wethering the Storm last night….AWESOME!!! Absolutely loved it! Can’t wait to see how you like it Maryse…..Jake was amazing!!
Finished reading The Mighty Storm earlier today and 59% into Wethering the Storm right now. Absolutely amazing. Jake is right up at the top of my book boyfriend list thus far. TRU ly LUV him. Giggle…xoxo
I finished “Wethering the Storm” yesterday. Loved it and I think I mentioned earlier on another post that I was so proud of Jake. He really manned up in this book! Have also read the Sebastion and Caroline
books and enjoyed them too. Like the Caroline book best, Sebastian
turned into a real hottie! Everybody hot this year is a Sebastian (Surviving Raine).
What is it about the guys POV that I litteraly drool over like Jake in Wethering the Storm??? They’re soooooo raw filthy and blunt. I love it and don’t judge me. I’m really a good girl. Honestly;) xoxo
Another wow!! Just finished reading Wethering the Storm!! I love Jake!! Needed a tissue a few times. I got home at 12:30am and read till 2:n30am and then again at 8:30 am could not put it down. Now it’s time to eat!!! It’s so true you do forget to eat when you get so lost in a book and there are so many books I have felt that way about. Bacon and eggs cooking now!! Then onto another book!!!
Hi, Maryse! So happy to see my book here and for your comments! Thanks Amiee for mentioning it. “Paradise Taken” is based on true events about someone close to me. It’s definitely angsty, for sure. If you read it, I’d love to fill you in on the truths of the story.
Thanks again! Love seeing your reviews!
Happy Reading everyone!
Just finished Wethering the Storm. AMAZING!!! Lots of tears and some sobbing. Now I think I’ll sit here and cry quietly for a little while I come to grips with closure. Not sure I can start a new read for this evening. Thank you Samantha Towle. Xoxo
