Claimed (Brides of the Kindred book 1): (Alien Warrior Science Fiction Romance)

YAY US!!! My sister has discovered the wonderful world of OUR favorite romance reads, and she is HOOKED! She is reading her way through this series and fell head-over-heels in love (this one is sci-fi) and now she’s reading J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series (and you can bet I’m *squeeing* every time she tells me something that she’s loving). She’s still on Wrath…

But I digress. My sister is DEVOTED to the Kindred. In love. She has some favorites, but the way she talks about them (she’s like us… she can’t stop telling me about each book, and relating real life moments to certain scenes in this series… LOL!!!!) and yep… I’m pretty sure she’d marry any one of ’em. read more

Book Review – Full Tilt by Emma Scott

BIG FAT FLOPPY TEARS ALERT!!!! I read this dry-eyed right to the end (waiiiiit for it…), knowing for sure… I was bound to cry, right? Why wasn’t I crying yet? WHOA THAT PART? WHOA. THAT THOUGHT? WHOA. WHAT HE/SHE JUST SAID?!!!!! WHOA. THAT FEELING?!! But it’s as if my emotions were on standby. Like I was scared. Like I was waiting… for something, and I didn’t know if I needed to cry for heartache and pain, or for joy. Or for both.

A twinge of unease tainted my happiness, like a drop of black ink in a clear bowl. read more

Book Review – Undecided by Julianna Keyes

I absolutely LOVED this fun book! It’s freaking fantastic and for all of the reasons that we once fell head-over-heels in love with “New Adult” books. It’s got the “new adult” college insecurities, but with the engaging, smart and witty, yet VERY human characters. The mistakes made in search of having a good time, the consequences dictating their current outlook, their pasts that they are trying to overcome (but in this case… nothing TOO dark – just… “stuff” ya know? Stuff that we have ALL contended with). But best of all, it’s the awesome connection between all of the characters (old friends and new…). Lots of merging going on, but in a very organic, realistic way. read more

Book Review – Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

Dangerous Girls
Okay first… HOLY. MOLY book awesomenessssssss!!!! I am adrenalized. My heart is pumping, still. Totally 5 stars from me! And I’m starting to realize, the speed in which I read through a book, directly correlates to my enjoyment of it. I pretty much started it super-late last night (kind of in a “sample” mode), went to sleep, picked it back up this morning (still before 20% mark) and devoured it. Over 400 pages!!!!!! I ate them up in a matter of hours.

Sometimes it takes me an entire day or a few days, for a 300-something page book. This one? Mere hours, and I didn’t skim a thing. I Ate. It. Up. And I want more. So now you know for sure. This is a MUST READ! Especially considering I’ve started and stopped 3 or 4 books over the weekend, struggling to get into them. To “connect”. Frustrated, I decided to backtrack on one of my TBR lists, and I remembered this one. Highly recommended by my friend Sadie (we’re into the same types of jaw dropping psych-thrillers) and quite a few others, and it sure sounded good. read more

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me
I know… at first the title totally threw me off. When it comes to this author, I’m always a little perplexed (yet intrigued) by her title choices, and they end up making plenty of sense. But this one makes ALL the sense in the world when you realize “The Wall of Winnipeg” is the nickname of a HUGE 6’4″ 250lb+ football hero (who’s actual name is Aiden). So yes, my friends, we get to fall in love with a sports star, and BOY DO WE EVER!!!! read more
