The Opportunist
I loved this book so much that it seems like I’ve highlighted the whole thing! And this isn’t a sweet and cuddly kind of love, either. This book’s “feel” borders on a mix of two emotionally devastating, tumultuous books from our reading past (How to Kill A Rockstar + Thoughtless – just the feel, not the story itself). Books that we loved, but only because they had us reeling, crying, and delightfully angrified ;). Sighing in love and then gasping in shock as certain truths came to light (stuff we knew that they didn’t. Stuff they knew that WE didn’t).

Book Review – A Modern Love Story by Jolyn Palliata
A Modern Love Story
Well. *hrmph* I can certainly say that this book was almost unputdownable. I can definitely say that it started off and continued in a way that absolutely had my heart and squeezed it. The sweet relationship that developed between two young, broken souls as they took care of each other, watched out for each other and became best friends. I felt the sadness, I felt the tugs at my heart. The tension and the “almost” moments as they became adults. *sigh*
I can say that there was a HUGE potential for an amazing love story, and that for awhile… it was actually moving that way. And then? Yep. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!! (and not a purring sexy grrrr either. An ANGRY grrrrrrrrr!!)
Book Review – Tempted by Megan Hart
*side-eyes the original cover*. Blink. Blink blink. *grins* Tee hee!! *blush*
Ummmm… hehe. I don’t really have to tell you what the book is about… do I? We all know Megan writes erotica. Yep. She does. And this is quite… erotic. Hard to tell by the cover, but I can assure you, it is. (can you hear my sarcasm? Can you? LOL!)
(btw: there’s a bunch of shocked/confused/intrigued blinking going on in this one. And not just by the reader). I laughed each time the characters *blinked*, because I could see them, perfectly.
Book Review – Broken by Megan Hart
Broken
*clutching my heart* Ohhhh WOW!!!!! Yep there is no other way to exclaim my excitement over this one. This book turned my world upside down, and made me ride it that way, all the way to the end. I went in smug that I’d probably remain unaffected by the obvious erotic storyline, yet came out electrified, alive and buzzing with a need for MORE.
But it’s not for the reason you’re thinking. Nope. Nuh uh. I realized this was going to be unputdownable very shortly into the storyline, when something made me gasp out loud and say “OH NO WAY!!!” (to my husband and all of my fellow Facebook readers).
