Following my heart, one book at a time...
Here is yet another much LOVED series by one of our favorite authors, J.M. Darhower. She is on a writing roll!!! Tons of great new releases, and they are taking our fellow readers by storm! I haven’t read this one yet but desperately want to. I think it’s a dark romance. And he sounds deliciously bad. 😉
“He’s a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.
I want to hate him. Sometimes, I do. But it doesn’t stop me from loving him, too.”
You: A Novel
This dark-read was obviously up my “dark alley” in soooooo many ways, that I just couldn’t resist reading it upon it’s release. Exploring a subject matter that titillates my reading-thrill needs, and so well written (you’ll see that right from the sample), with a blurb that just blew my mind. It had to be next!
…she’s perfect for him, and soon she can’t resist her feelings for a guy who seems custom made for her. But there’s more to Joe than Beck realizes, and much more to Beck than her oh-so-perfect façade. Their mutual obsession quickly spirals into a whirlwind of deadly consequences . . .
The Tied Man<— I went in to this one blind, and whoa. WHOA my friends!!!! *whooo* That was crazy! In fact, this was almost the first book that I almost DNF’d (did not finish) but would have still reviewed. Not to tell you how bad it was. Heck no. It was great. Sort of. 😉 I guess it depends on which part of my brain and/or my heart, you ask. I was consumed by it at a certain point. So much so that I thought there was no way I could carry on. Yes. I put it down and exclaimed to the world that I was done. Nope. No more of that for me! I was going to be a quitter and I was good with that.
<— Remember that darkish book that I loved SO much a couple of months ago? Push (check out my 4.5 star, spoiler-free book review of Push and you’ll see). It was the one that kept all of us that read it on the edge of our seat FREAKING OUT over what we were reading. To give you an idea… here’s a bit from the blurb.
David is cool and collected, and he makes Emma feel safe for the first time ever. But David has his own chilling past—his six previous girlfriends have all disappeared without a trace. Emma’s walking a dangerous line, but David’s pull is intoxicating. And impossible to resist…
<— DARK READ ALERT!! And when I saw this part of the blurb, I got a jolt! “She wants me to be her hero, But I’m not a good man. I am her damnation.” <—- Ohhhhhhh!!!
Kate: Just read Deviant by Callie Hart. Holy Jesus crap. Down the rabbit hole and I want more! Had the book tinglies for the first time in foreeeeeeeeeeeever. The thinking about it all day fog. Now I’m in the sad “I’m never gonna start another book cause they’re just not gonna be as good” sadness.
