Book Review – Deeper by Robin York

Deeper: A Novel (Caroline & West Book 1)
<— 5 stars for this one my friends. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!! I was SO involved, so into it, that I didn’t even realize how long it was (over 400 pages!!). Bev and MichelleS LOVED and recommended it promising a 5-star read, and boy did it deliver!

It wasn’t drawn out, or repetitive. Everything in this story had it’s place. It’s purpose. And it allowed me to truly get to know these characters and fully indulge in all sorts of emotional angst (but ALL within reason). The heartwarming scenes, the kindle-throwing moments, the realizations. The despair, the strength. The growth. I experienced it all, and I “got” them. read more

<— Here’s one that I knew I’d probably enjoy, but I didn’t expect to thrill over it, as much as I did… and I absolutely loved it! I read it straight through from 9pm to 2am, and by the time I was done, I was actually still wide awake. Adrenalized. Happy. And from the start of it, I was excited. Ohhhhh what a magnificently written, bittersweet, extraordinary story. Unforgettable, because it broke my heart… gently.

My friend Jackie (in England) was adamant that I read this ASAP. It wasn’t available in the US at the time (not even in digital format) so she MAILED me a print copy, and left me an urgent note. The way she was going on about it in chat, I knew this was going to be big. It was obviously one of “those” reads. Inspirational and deep, you know? I was excited, but you know me and physically holding an actual book. 😉 And this is a BIG book. Not just in size but in emotion, too. read more

*sigh* One of my BEST. Series. Ever! Bittersweet goodbye for now, as this is the last, but not least, in my Experiment in Terror reading marathon (for now…). Book #5 (the latest release that I received from the author, in this expected 8 book series) did exactly what all of the others did. Put me in an emotional tailspin! Another un-put-downable, creepy-as-heck read (maybe even creepier then all of them). Plenty to fear in this one, since it might not just be ghosts terrorizing Perry anymore. There is something much more sinister at work. Meaning… if you read this at night, do so with the lights on. read more
