The Lonely
This was a pretty great read and I couldn’t put it down, but it was one of “those” that I had to contemplate for a day to figure out where I stood with it. An interesting and eerie love story exploring a whole new set of damaged pasts and broken futures. Had a bit of that Hopeless/Ten Tiny Breaths/Fifty Shades feel and throw in a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome for good measure! (I know right? Weird combo… but it did actually end up working well). So thanks to many of you for this recommendation! You’re right, it was right up my dark alley!
My Book Reviews
Book Review – And With Madness Comes the Light by Karina Halle
And With Madness Comes the Light (EIT book #6.5)
This review isn’t really all that “spoiler-y” but for those new to this series, you *might* want to skip this. Although… you may fall for Dex just on this review alone. 😉 Tee hee!! But I ADAMANTLY recommend this series ’cause it’s one of my favorite series of allllll time!! You can start from the beginning (book #1 is free right now)
—> Experiment in Terror Series Reading Order
Right off the bat, I’m giving this “Dex POV” novella 5 stars!! To be afforded the opportunity of re-living many key scenes from the Experiment in Terror series since that big crazy moment at the end of book #4, that put us all in a frenzy? I’m going to say it’s perfect. P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Any time I can spend with Dex I. Will. Take!! And, to go through some of that really hard stuff in the mind of the one I was SO mad at… is an interesting perspective for sure.
Book Review – True Love Story by Willow Aster
True Love Story
I FREAKING LOVED IT!!!!!! 5 STARS…. OH YES!!!!! Oh. YES! And yes… I have a bit of “the shakes” right now. I was looking for my heartache, and I got it. And I believed every. single. moment. Every one. My e-book is highlighted yellow, and there are notes everywhere. I just couldn’t stop talking to myself about it.
A few of my random musings…
“I’m in actual physical pain. And yet I can’t release the tears and it’s probably why my chest aches so much.”
Book Review – Never Look Back by Lori Otto
Never Look Back: Book Three of the Emi Lost & Found series
QUICK NOTE: Okay I think I did this completely spoiler-free (even if it is the review for the 3rd and final book in this trilogy). I think anyone can read this… safely. BUT!! I still suggest skipping this review and just jumping into book #1 without any idea of what you’re in for, IF you are up for some serious emotional turmoil. If you are open and game to some intense drama… (in a super-sweet-series format). Hrmmm… Yeah… if you’re new to this series, skip this review. 😉 and go here instead: Here’s my review of book #1 (Emi Lost and Found).
Book Review – Time Stands Still by Lori Otto
Time Stands Still: Book Two of the Emi Lost & Found series
Okay for all of you who haven’t read book #1… come with me. *points over there* —-> start at this review (Emi Lost and Found), and avoid comments, etc… ’cause #1 has stuff that happens in it, and so does #2. Stuff that if you know about it beforehand, will alter your reading experience. ‘Kay? So don’t scroll down. I’m gonna try to do this review spoiler-free, but just in case. Don’t. Look. Down. (but know that I loved book #2 BIG time!)
