Taken by Midnight: A Midnight Breed Novel
Yup! I still love this series, and this book was great and exciting from the start. While the series is not my absolute favorite, I can certainly say that the books of “The Midnight Breed” series always capture my attention, I can barely put them down, and the series continues to get better as the story progresses. These “half-vampire” warriors are so easy to crush on. Their camaraderie feels almost as “real” as that of the Brothers in the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
My Book Reviews
Book Review – Shades of Midnight by Lara Adrian
First off….HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! What better way to enjoy the day, then by eating treats, watching horror movies, and discussing vampire books (like this one!)
Shades of Midnight: (The Midnight Breed, Book 7)
Book # 7 in the Midnight Breed series was slow to begin with, but picked up enough that I eventually really connected to the characters.
I found it “funny” however, when the hero (Kade, a “Breed” male) adamantly pursued the heroine (Alex – a human female, with a “twist”) from the start. Yet once he discovered her “Breedmate” twist, his internal musings were all about keeping her at a distance 🙄 (despite the fact, that due to the Breedmate mark, she’s now officially perfect for him).

Foreplay: A Succubus Diaries Prequel (The Succubus Diaries)
A fun short story (and again, I do mean short). We get the play by play of Jackie’s day, that leads up to her defining moment.
She starts her morning as a frumpy, insecure woman who gets bypassed for a promotion, then moves on to drowning her sorrows at a local bar, and being bypassed by the “meh” guys in said bar. It progresses to Jackie’s life changing moment when she stumbles in a dark alley, and her life as she knows it, ends.

Zane’s Tale: A Succubus Diaries Short
The perfect little short story to hold me over while I await the next installment in the series. Now, to be honest, it was over quick. But there is a part that makes you forget it’s almost over, and let’s you just live in that moment.
Book Review – Crave by J.R. Ward
Crave: A Novel of the Fallen Angels
Yup…this was good. Although I didn’t plow through it, for some reason. Great J.R. Ward writing, storytelling, action, adventure, and of course GREAT intimate (ok let’s crass it up a little, cause let’s be honest, this is J.R. Ward we’re talking about…) GREAT fffffornication scenes 😯 hehe.
Jim (the main “fallen angel” in this series) has another soul to try and save, and he doesn’t even know who it is yet. A few turn of events and he deduces that it is a fellow XOps member (Isaac Rothe) who has gone AWOL. But, like all of these soldiers know, you can never leave XOps. You’ll die trying. Just ask Jim.
