This one passed just under my radar not too long ago, until some in our book-crew touted it as their “Best of May”. Admittedly, the cover didn’t quite catch my eye (even though I KNOW this author is much loved by many in our indie-romance world – especially her biker books). It was on my “new release” list, yet somehow I missed it for my own TBR list. Was it the cover? The “historical romance” aspect (which isn’t normal “my thing”)? I dunno, but OMG this one needs to be highlighted and I AM SO thankful to my book-buds for highlighting it for me!!

Book Review – A Five Minute Life by Emma Scott
One of my favorite authors in the world because of her fascinating, heartwarming (and at times, super-stressful) love stories, and she’s hit another one right out of the ball park!
Whoooooooooo how I enjoyed it. I’m always wholeheartedly hooked when exploring characters dealing with mental health (or physical) conditions, and a persevering love that conquers all, and this one rocked my romance world. What I loved about it most? While it did remind me of a few movies – and the author mentions that (movies I’ll never forget, they were just so good), this story took it’s own turn and developed into a life of its own.
Book Review – About Her by Kimberly Adams
ABOUT HER
<— Cover jolt, blurb jolt, title jolt annnnnnd totally up-my-alley jolt. It’s a psych-thriller, sure (and I know not everyone can relate to those), but it’s one about a love story gone wrong (which, in many circumstances, is very relatable). 😉
Woman scorned and all that. You’ll see…
I mean, how could I possible resist this blurb?
I did what was best for me and the kids. I moved on. He lied, and cheated, and destroyed our family, but in the end I won. And now, I’m faced with a choice.
Book Review – Tragic by Devney Perry
Tragic (Lark Cove Book 3)
<— THIS ONE’S GOING LIVE AT MIDNIGHT!!!! And I was delighted to get an early review copy (this author’s writing and alpha males are spot on and right up my alley).
And I was especially delighted when it featured a moody, big huge grump of a reclusive hero… who just happened to be her new neighbor. GAH!! I LOVE GRUMPY NEIGHBORS. Er… in books. Always and only in books (P.S. My neighbors are really awesome. I love my neighborhood!!). But boy do I love that kind of book drama. 😉
Book Review – That Guy by Kim Jones
That Guy
I read this one straight through in one shot. Started this morning, just finished it now, and I am thrilled with it! I KNEW going into this, by the recommendations I received, that this would be a laugh-riot (and of course, anyone that has watched the FaceTime videos that Kim Jones posts, you KNOW you are in for some possibly crude, yet hilarious humor).
I just LOVE her unabashed thoughts, and just how funny she can be in her delivery, so I knew this was going to be a touch of that, at the very least.
