Every Rose
You guys had me so excited (and SO scared) with this adamantly recommended book (and I really only paid attention when I noticed fellow reader, Liz, suggested it as her favorite for my “so good I forgot to eat” list). Once I read that, noticed the other recommendations pouring in as other readers agreed with her, and coupled those with that crazy warning “intro” to the synopsis, I knew I was in! And I was in for pain, but I wanted that kind of intensity. Bring it on!

Book Review – Afterburn by Sylvia Day + a video interview with the author!
A deliciously rich “reading-snack” that was short-ish, sure… but it had plenty of steam and romance to indulge and entertain me. My perfect bedtime read! And yes, there will be a book #2 (sort of a cliffhanger on this one) but nothing too crazy. Just enough of a *something* that had me chuckling wickedly when I reached the end. ‘Cause book #2 will lead us into phase #2 of this woman’s very determined personal goals.
Jax thought he knew Gianna, once upon a time, but Gianna is all grown up, and I think he’s met his match.
Book Review – Josh and Hannah by Lynda Chance

I got sucked in again, you guys!!! Into a YA’ish book (because of their ages) that had me glued and yet… I don’t know if I loved it or not. But there was something about it that had me. Recommended by my friend Joanna, and we…well, we have VERY similar taste in book-boyfriends. And it just so happens that I totally get her when she connects with one, ’cause I often find I connect just as intensely.
So even though it’s been a few days since she had recommended this one, after seriously “sampling” 3 books yesterday, I finally gave this one a go, and this is the one that stuck. This is the one that had me scrambling to purchase the rest. This is the one that I happily stayed up until 3-something am for before I had no choice but to conk out. This is the one that had me reaching for it first thing in the morning, to finish.

I received a seriously adamant recommendation for this book from a fellow reader (and friend) that I feel like I’ve known for years now. A frequent commenter, an avid reader, and while I don’t specifically remember her ever freaking out over a specific book, when she went nuts over this one (and then I noticed others chiming in with their own love for it), I dropped everything and ran to it. I mean, come on y’all!! She *squeeeeed*. If it makes you squee… just sayin’. 😉
Book Review – Present Perfect by Alison G. Bailey

Whoa. I don’t even know how to start this. *wipes eyes one final time with pajama top* Yes it’s 4:11pm and I’m still in my pajamas. I couldn’t help it! Plus it’s Sunday. Plus, I deserve to be in my comfortable pj’s ’cause this book tried to kill me, you guys.
It tried and tried, and I’d get back up, growl at it, or roll my eyes at it, or complain to my husband about it (at some points, I was so mad, that HE wanted to throw my iPad across the room). Or maybe it’s ’cause I kept interrupting his Call of Duty playing with my plaintive whining about the over-the-top, self-induced angsty character that was driving me batty. But even in all of my eye-rolling, my shrieks of “I wanna shake her!!” and “Can someone just please smack her? HARD!!??” (okay I actually said some way-worse things, here, but I’ll spare you ;)), I couldn’t put it down.
