A fantastic series about big name famous UFC fighters (title holders & champions, but also up and comers and some that made it far but changed courses along the way…) that have found each other in one way, shape or form in a small town called Garnet. ‘Cause it seems that Garnet is producing some of the best MMA fighters around. A UFC training center, started by a gorgeous and hulking local county cop (that was once a HUGE contender in the UFC world), that he runs along with his best friend (Clay, a UFC Heavyweight title holder) and his twin sister (a martial arts expert).
Soooooo SWEET!! I loved this book, and once I hit the halfway point, I couldn’t put it down. At first I kept comparing the beginning (this couple’s initial connection) to book #1 (Defying the Odds), and I wasn’t sure this second installment would live up to the romantic intensity of the first.
Bargain e-book ALERT!!! Noah (5th Street), and this is only temporary, because book #2 in the series will be released soon (YAY meeeeee!!!)
This is one that I absolutely LOVED. A contemporary romance with a gorgeous up and coming fighter (read: alpha-male) and his somewhat older “trainee”. I loved the slow build-up and the issues they faced. I was so IN… hook line and sinker. A lighter read, but still smokin’ and it’s got all that emotional tug ‘o war that I so thoroughly enjoy.
Noah (5th Street)
Whoa! I think I’ve been missing out. Is this what the author of the popular “Moreno brothers” series writes?!! While I realize this one isn’t from that series, I’d just like to say if the Morenos are anything like “Noah”, I am in for some fun!
I’m a little red-faced to admit this, but the cover sold it right off the bat! After a few fantastic *fighter/boxer/UFC* romance reads, I’ve been searching for more. I love these “rough-around-the edges” heroes. The strong, silent types. I saw this announced by my author friend (thanks Tina!!) and it was an immediate buy for me. And judging this book by it’s cover worked out great, ’cause by the time I hit the middle, I knew I was truly loving it! I *pre-squee’d* on Facebook. Yep. I know, I know… I’m trying to abstain from doing that, now. ‘Cause there were a few occasions where I’ve felt the need to take my *squee* back when the book didn’t turn out to be all that. But THIS one, I already knew was a sure thing.
Since so many of us loved Kele Moon’s “Defying the Odds” (UFC Fighter), and we’re anxiously awaiting more, I did a little research, and found this series. Five full length books so far, first 3 seem to be well received (4th and 5th are debatable, but I may still be curious enough to give this series a try). Let me know if you’ve read any of ’em.
I found a blog post comment recently by Lori saying “I think MMA fighters make great heroes!”
The author is apparently a fan, as she posted a bunch of pics on her website, of her attending an event (lots of pics with the fighters!)
