Oh my sister is looking for a book title too. Perfect timing since she’s coming to see my for the holidays, and maybe we’ll have the answer for her and we can buddy read it.

This is for all of your Stephen King fans (which I am) however I do not know this one, and now I know why. It’s under a pen name!!! 🙂

Book Review – Gwendy's Button Box by Stephen King & Richard Chizmar

It’s creepy. It’s magnificent. And for me, it’s an easy 5 stars for just having sucked me in right from the very start, and having never let me go. I didn’t put it down (at least… not by choice). 😉

Sure, it’s a shorter read, but I honestly felt like this story was complete (mind you, I’d love some sequels… there’s much story potential here).

And personally, if I were you, I’d stop reading this review right now, and JUMP IN to this eerie story, and escape for awhile. 😉 Go in as blind as you can. Trust me. It’s worth it, even if you’re not a horror (or scary story fan). This one is so much more than that. read more

Movie Review – The Girl With All the Gifts (written by M.R. Carey)

How could I possibly resist THIS “Hannibal Lecter” touch? I could not. 😉

The Girl With All the Gifts <— OMG I was DYING to read this. I one-clicked this book back October of 2015 (yep… for Halloween – what perfection! Especially when I read this chilling blurb):

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her “our little genius.”

Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don’t like her. She jokes that she won’t bite, but they don’t laugh.

Talk about a blurb-jolt. THAT is what I’m talking about when I want to be enticed to read something. Short and sweet (er… not so sweet, in this case) but totally loaded in thrill-potential, and doesn’t really tell me anything other than… OMG I HAVE to find out what this means!!! read more

Justin Cronin – The Passage Trilogy Reading Order

YAY ME!!! The trilogy is complete, it sounds right up my dark and creepy alley, and my scary-loving fellow readers (and even some of my non-horror friends) right here HIGHLY recommend it!

Jan130: Justin Cronin is a terrific writer. I’m not normally a horror fan either, but to me these books are more adventure/ sci-fi/ post-apocalypse genre than horror. I’ve re-started The Passage and am fully hooked again already. Wow. That wonderful feeling of diving into an incredible, memorable book is coming over me again. There is NOTHING IN THE WORLD like reading a really good book. I’m a happy addict. Sigh …. read more
