Book Review – Mine by Katy Evans

Mine (The REAL series book #2) *slight spoiler alert* If you have not yet read book #1, skip this review as this is the sequel. If you love MMA fighter super-stars that are uber-alphas and are big with the whole “claiming” thing… if you love lots of angst and drama, this series just might be for you! (Here’s my review of “Real” —> book #1)

Mostly… I really liked it, because of Remy. He made my stomach swirl and my heart skip beats with his extreme-intense self. His big, sad, LOVING heart. His overwhelming heart. But being overwhelmed by a character like Remy just seems to work for me. 😀 read more

Book Review – Crossing the Line by Kele Moon

Crossing the Line (Battered Hearts – book #3) – Quick note! While these can probably be read as standalones (and understood well enough as the author backtracks), they are best read in order for maximum impact. You get the “best friends/family feel”, and important new characters are introduced, as the series progresses. And anyway. Like I know many of you, you’ll go CRAZY for book #1 (MMA fighter “Clay” rocked my world), so I highly recommend it!!

This series feels like “home” to me. I was already so invested with the characters because of book #1 & #2, but this book brought them full circle. read more

Book Review – Worth The Fight by Vi Keeland

Worth the Fight
Worth the fight… worth the read. And while it didn’t necessarily put me into a swooning, squee’ing frenzy I still enjoyed it. It’s well-written, with solid characters, and a story that progressed smoothly. Never becoming too far-fetched in it’s moments of drama.

It comes complete with all of our favorite fighter/alpha-male characteristics: he’s pretty much undefeated, gorgeous, and unattainable. We get that fun “bad boy” response to the potential love interest (intense desire now, but…potential “issues” as things get serious) which can’t help but culminate into moments of innate alpha-male claiming tendencies. read more

Book Review – Maybe This Time by Chantal Fernando

Maybe This Time
Apparently I’m on an MMA cage-fighting kick right now and I can’t help myself but jump on every single one that I find out about. I’ve already read two this week, with another one lined up… let alone the others that I’ve read over the last month. Oh and, let’s not even mention the ones I’ve been stockpiling in my iPad. No worries. I’m sure you’ll be hearing about them, soon. 😉

So this is a brand new release (in that genre), and in theory, has everything I look for in my guilty pleasures. Mega alpha-male that has a bad attitude, even to the girl (not so much cocky, just broody, angry and no-nonsense). The one that everyone says “don’t even bother with him. He hates everyone”. And then, out of the blue, he does (or says) something soooooo sweet and swoon-worthy. Ahhhh yes. That’s a quick way to my heart right there. 😉 Trick it and make it think it hates you (or that you hate it) and then surprise it with sweetness. Er, wait. That’s not cool at all. LOL! Recipe for disaster, actually. read more

Recommended by a few of our fellow readers, this one hit my “TBR list” FAST after a few compared it to my truest-book love (and favorite love story) of my life!
