Reader Recommendations – Our favorite books featuring Beta heroes…

THIS LIST IS NO ALPHA-JERKS ALLOWED!! 😂  A few of my fellow readers have a special request, and I’m in!! It’s been asked for a few times in the past, but Ryan’s request a few days ago spurred me into serious action!

Yes, normally I’m more into the alpha-males, but I have fallen head-over-heels with a few of the gentler, patient and unrestrained loving heroes too! So it’s their time to shine, here!!

Why the Twilight Saga means so much to me…

THE TWILIGHT SAGA <—-THE SERIES THAT STARTED IT ALL FOR ME. It’s not news how much I love this series and that it was the catalyst to my extreme book reading (and of course, what inspired me to start my blog). I’ve mentioned it via posts and comments over the years. I always feel a need to post an ode to the start of it all. I ALWAYS feel this need to explain it to those that haven’t read these yet, what I felt. How deeply I felt.

I always feel a need to thank the Stephenie Meyer, the characters, the story, my mom (for introducing me to it, and reading overall) and for that matter, the entire book world for existing. I was 100% able to connect to and become one with, this series, and I have continued to connect with so many books since then. read more

Shara: Just finished “So, that got weird” by Amelia Kingston. She’s a new author to me and I really enjoyed the book! Completely recommend

Ashley: I reread ‘So, that got weird’ by Amelia Kingston and that was a fun time – it has the same vibe as Elle Kennedy or Maya Hughes’ books (which I’m a huge fan of).

<—IT’S OFFICIAL!!! MIDNIGHT SUN BY STEPHENIE MEYER IS GOING LIVE AUGUST 4th 2020 and it’s up for preorder. What a way to kick off a Monday!!!!!

Oh how we were teased last week over this possibility. Our whole book-world (well, at least us Twilight die-hards) exploded in excitement, and then today… we’re still exploding… though with a ton of relief!! YAY US!!!! And OMG it’s almost 700 pages!??! And how I LOVE this cover. Absolutely perfect in every way, especially symbolically. read more

Reader Recommendations – Our Favorite “heroine disguised as a man” books…

Ashley is looking for this particular trope, and I get a kick out of this one ’cause one of my favorite movies from years ago (in this trope) had me laughing so hard!!

It was “She’s the Man” with Amanda Bynes. She had such incredible comedic timing and hilarious facial expressions, I giggle through the whole thing. That is one of my favorite feel-good movies, so I can’t wait to see what we come up with, book-wise!

Meredith: You say heroine dressed as a man and I immediately think of Twelfth Night and She’s the Man (since it’s a retelling of Twelfth Night to begin with.) 🤣 read more
