Nyx in the House of Night: Mythology, Folklore and Religion in the PC and Kristin Cast Vampyre Series
Edited by P.C. Cast? Yup. This isn’t another actual book in the series, but a companion of sorts. This one was sent to me by the publisher, (actually, TWO, one for me, and one for a lucky commenter), and I quickly realized it is a compilation of “works” (essays) by other authors, and professors. Analyzations and comparisons of past related folklore and mythology. Greek, vampyre, witches, the history of some Oklahoma landmarks that inspired the places in the story, Cherokee customs and beliefs, even… the history of cats (poor things, worshipped as gods and then despised as demons, and then… well we cuddle ’em now 😉 )

Jenna Maclaine – Cin Craven Series Reading Order
Thanks to my Michele from my Facebook page, for this recommendation!
About the series (historical/vampire):
She is a vampire, a witch, a warrior- and her story is one of legend.
Dulcinea Craven descends from a long line of witches, and she has just inherited wild, untrained magical powers that she has no idea how to control. Now a ruthless vampire and an age-old demon are determined to enslave Cin and steal her power for their own. Her only hope is The Righteous, a band of warrior vampires who slay the rogue undead. Among them is Michael, a fierce swordsman who inflames Cin’s most primal hungers. Showing her a sensual pleasure beyond anything in the mortal realm, she must choose between the human existence she has always known, and immortality as a vampire—a new life filled with forbidden urges, dark yearning, and unearthly passions…

Book Review – When Darkness Comes by Alexandra Ivy
When Darkness Comes (Guardians of Eternity Book 1)
Well, well, well… I had no idea the “Guardians” were full-fledged vampires. Not that I wouldn’t have read the series eventually, but upon the very high recommendations from fellow readers (and Sherry’s super generosity), my reading time for the next couple of weeks has been filled.
These are old-school vampires, folks. Can’t see their own reflection, have no recollection of their human lives, have mind control, super speed strength, oh and, they are inhumanely gorgeous. All of ’em (at least from what I can tell so far). Don’t be fooled, however. Just because they are vampires (which makes them, essentially “demon”), they do have the ability to choose between good and evil, and recognize the “good or bad” in others around them. Even humans.
