Book Review – The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood

October 27, 2025 By Maryse Leave a Comment

The Love of My Afterlife <— Very quirky, lots of funny (and at times, over-the-top silly) but definitely a rainy day read to cheer you up, though it does get kind of deep at one point and pulled at my heartstrings, which I appreciated. I love some depth with my silly-sweet, you know? I liked it!! It wasn’t necessarily unputdownable and mind-blowing but it was fun and full of heart. And it was also unforgettable. I actually like it even more now looking back on it and writing this. read more

Marina’s Mini Book Review – I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

October 26, 2025 By Maryse Leave a Comment

I’ll Give You the Sun <— THESE ARE MY FAVORITE KINDS OF RECOMMENDATIONS!!! You know… sometimes I get one that’s short & sweet (<— P.S. I LOVE THOSE TOO!!) and it makes it into my Friday Finds, or onto a dedicated post to the series recommended, and sometimes… sometimes they come looking like a full on review, and when that happens, I love to turn them into a dedicated blog post.

And this one from Marina… is one of those!

Hi Maryse,

Ok, I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT THIS BOOK. It is DIRE. CAN I SCREAM FROM THE RAFTERS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!! Jandy Nelson’s “I’ll Give You the Sun” It is transcendingly beautiful. read more

Margie’s Mini Book Review – Unravelling-Aria & Crispin by Raegan Salander

October 15, 2025 By Maryse Leave a Comment

BETRAYAL & GROVELING FANS!!! Margie has found us another one that she loved, so I’m posting her recommendation/mini review (P.S. She was saying, on her last recommendation that it was the last one, and I told her, and I told her to call it the “latest one” ’cause I had a feeling, since this is her book catnip, that she’d come across another one soon enough 😏😉).

She says:

Betrayal and Groveling.

Well you said never say never, and I found this book. Not sure if you’ve already covered it, but not many reviews and it took a deep dive to come up on my Amazon list. read more

Cristina’s Mini Book Review – I Dreamt That You Loved Me: A Love Story by Emery Rose

October 9, 2025 By Maryse Leave a Comment

I Dreamt That You Loved Me: A Love Story <— ROCK STAR ROMANCE & Cristina absolutely 5-STAR LOVED THIS BOOK!!! WOW this is a world class recommendation and I couldn’t just leave it as a simple comment. It deserves its own post and so I turned it into a mini review.

To the point and so exciting and she says ALL of the things that I’m looking for in an angsty romance (and I totally get what she means, that after years of constant reading… if it gives us that old-school oomph, gut-punch & heart-feels, it MUST be amazing). She makes me want to read this book right now!! read more
