Monday Early Bird Book Releases – 08-12-2019

Happy Monday!! It’s a pretty short list of earlybirds today, but I suspect “back to school” week has a lot to do with it. 😉 Still though, I found a few that sound awesome like that one to the left. UNREQUITED LOVE!! HE doesn’t want her… OH YES!!!! But first…

THREE THINGS:

1.) My canary is officially at my house, and I’ve been giggling watching all of his antics, and spoiling him! I LOVE him!!! His name is Birdy. I think? It’s just what I call him. Sometimes I call him “PeepPeep”. And boy does he sing!!! I decked out his cage with cool feeders, and perches and a toy that he actually plays with. He loves taking baths, and he loves his treats (so far, yes to cucumber, broccoli and blueberries – but a big fat no to strawberries and raspberries). Who doesn’t like red berries?? *shakes head*

2.) I took a nap on Saturday afternoon, and birdy noticed, and sang super-softly…. the entire time. Like to lull me to sleep? Or just not to wake me? CUTEST THING EVER!!

3.) I squirreled from War at the 70% mark a couple of weeks ago (she was making me mad… LOL!!! I just couldn’t with her, anymore. 😉 And I wanted a contemporary romance for just a bit..) but went back to War last night and finished it last night and it actually turned out to be fabulous!! I ended up loving it, and the end was amazing. I surrendered. 😉 Review is coming up!!

  • Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce <— PSYCH-THRILLER AMY RECOMMENDATION ALERT!! And oh boy am I on alert right now!! Eeeeep!!! She’s my book twin so I know i’ll be into it!

Amy: This one…THIS ONE! I’m loving it. LOVING it. The h is a hot freaking mess, and I’m relishing the anxiety it’s causing me with not knowing where this is heading. It’s reminiscent of Hausfrau…I’ve been wanting one like this for a long while! 😀

Nay: Sounds great, Amy! I just put it on my tbr.

Maryse: Ohhhh yeahhhhh that’s TOTALLY my thing… *claps with glee* P.S. I five-starred Hausfrau and here’s my Book Review (if anyone missed it)

Amy: I finished Blood Orange and can say I definitely recommend it. It’s not a Marmy so it’s safe for everyone (unless infidelity on the h’s part completely repulses you), and it has a good amount of anxiety-inducing situations.

I honestly had no idea how it would end, and I’m SO glad I didn’t read spoilers. When I hit the last part I was freaking out a bit and loved every second of it! It was no Hausfrau, but it gave me a mini Hausfrau fix.

  • Beauty Mark by Stephie Walls <— NANCY & GREY LOVED IT! Nancy found us this deal!

Nancy: BEAUTY MARK by Stephie Walls has a new cover & writing overhaul. On sale for limited time, plus KU!

Grey: I read an ARC of this one, and it was a definite 4.5 star read – a lot different than the insta-connections and ooey gooey love stories that a lot of us are gorged out on right now…and that cover, it’s one of my very favorite book covers ever. Such depth in character development…even though I wanted to smack some people at times, it was just really well written and I loved it.

Nancy: This book came out Saturday. A strange day for a release, but I read an ARC & it was so good. Can be read as a standalone! I Pre-orderedmyself a copy, too!

Caroline: If you like edgier historicals, this series is good. Book two was just released. This is not the typical Regency romances; you’ll need to fan yourselves for these bad/good guys…

Maryse: Hey!!! I have book #1!! YAY ME!! I remember another Historical romance author that had some super-steamy books… *ooooof* *fans self* Mary Wine, I think? Yep. *waggles eyebrows*

  • Hell Ryders MC by J.L. Sheppard <— SUPER-BARGAIN BIKER SERIES ALERT!! J.L. Sheppard just notified me about her big sale!

  • The Escape Room: A Novel by Megan Goldin <— PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT AND OMG!!!!! MINE!!!!!!!!!  Just check out the reviews… insane!!! 😬 This makes me wanna squirrel so hard!!I don’t know how I missed it on release day (I’m shocked because this is TOTALLY my thing) but I’m starting it tonight. Looks like it will keep me on the edge of my seat and give me panic attacks!!! I CAN’T WAIT!!!! 😁 YAY ME!!!
  • Willing Her to Love Me by Avery West <— LIVE!! HE’S LOVED HER SINCE HIGH SCHOOL… “...Luckily for me, her father is an absolutely despicable and willing to auction off his only daughter for a pretty penny from the highest bidder. And, that bidder, just so happens to be one Mark Gallagher with a multi-million dollar vineyard located in the Napa valley. But don’t worry, it won’t be so easy to just drop the money.   • In Moonlight and Memories: Volume One by Julie Ann Walker <— FREEBIE (for today) ALERT!! And it’s the first book in a completed trilogy!!

Theresa: Just finished all 3 books in Julie Ann Walker’s In Moonlight and Memories. It was beyond an epic read. Has to be one of best I have read in true romance. Author makes you understand and feel the people and history of New Orleans, with a love triangle, secrets, mysteries, loyalties of a true friendship that goes beyond any you have ever read. If you have not thought about reading, it is a must read. Unlike anything author has ever written. Can’t seem to pick up another book because I keep re reading in my mind.

Caroline: OMG!! Look at what is in kindle unlimited! If anyone is late to read this series, the first book in the Stephanie Plum series is in kindle unlimited. Great way to try it!

Tessa: One for the Money. I liked it and it made me grin. The mystery was obvious. I met the main bad guy and knew the person did it, but that’s just me. I loved Joe.

  • Gretchen: A Thriller by Shannon Kirk <— PSYCH-THRILLER THAT I’VE JUST STARTED & NAY finished AND enjoyed it!! YAY ME!! 😀

Nay: I finished Gretchen. That is one strange, wild book! And it got even more wackadoodle as it progressed. I’m still thinking on how I want to rate it. It took a while for the story to get going in an understandable way. It didn’t really drag or anything–it was just kind of confusing.

The last 30-40% was great though. One minute I checked to see how far I was and it said 63%, and then it seemed like no time at all had passed and I was at 93%

  • Spawn of Darkness Series by S.A. Parker <— REVERSE HAREM FANS!! Joy recommends this one but made me snort in the process! 😉

Joy: Hi Maryse, please add these to your RH list. They’re a bit dark, but interesting, if you don’t mind the inner conversations that she has with her vajay-jay (lmbo)! S.A. Parker’s Spawn of Darkness Series. Book 1 is A Token’s Worth & book 2 is A Feather’s Worth. Book 3 is to be released on August 31st. The fourth and final book is tbd.

  • The Aermian Feuds by Frost Kay <— FANTASY ROMANCE & IT’S GIVING CAROLINE THE FEELS!!

Caroline: Oooo…I think I found a good substitute for my Sarah J Maas fix… this series sounds really good!! Available in kindle unlimited- 4 books in series with book 5 coming soon. It’s giving me the feels!!!

  • Black Blade Series by Jennifer Estep <— JENNIFER ESTEP ALERT!! YA PARANORMAL & Caroline also found us this one!!

Caroline: I found kind of a hidden young adult series by Jennifer Estep and the first book is in kindle unlimited. I’m on book two- highly recommend!

Cheryl: I listened to Puck Me Secretly and Home Game by Odette Stone so far with painting. They are the two books before The Penalty Box. Good, funny low angst audio books. Listening to a book certainly helps, but maybe I need to up my game by adding some day drinking!!!

Marie Force – Five Years Gone Series Reading Order

 <— OMG this sounds A-MAZING!!! ROMANCE ANGST (could it be a love triangle??) and it sounds deep, and like the ultimate guilt pleasure to boot!

And it was supposed to be a standalone, but the sequel just came out and I’ve been told NOT to read the blurb (spoilers!!) but… it was too late. I already had. I didn’t know they were a duet, and I read the blurb for #2 and FREAKED OUT!! And now I’m dying to read it even more.

Michele G: I’ve been waiting for One Year Home since I read Five Years Gone by Marie Force. …You definitely need to read book one first and don’t read the description for book 2 or it may ruin the outcome of book one for you…fyi!

Leslie M: I didn’t realize Five Years Gone was a series. I recently got that one on audio. Is it going to rip my heart out??

Michele G: Wellllll…there is a strong possibility.

Sara: Loved book1❣️ just started #2. Marie Force is always great💘

Mind you, I now wish I didn’t know what #2 is about so I could guess and pine and stress the whole way through, but knowing what I *think* I know from the synopsis just makes me SURE this “duet” is going to tear my heart out anyway!!! YAY ME!!!

About book #1:

I’ve tried checking my “read” pile in goodreads but can’t seem to find my book. Here’s the thing. I barely remember anything, so please bear with me.

It’s about a single dad with a son, who has a sweet tooth who keeps coming back to the female protagonist candyshop/bakeshop *I can’t remember which.

That’s all I can remember. Holy sh!t. I’m bad at this. I just realized that my clue doesn’t really give much. I’m sorry.

I’m wondering if it’s this one: Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers #1) by Tara Sivec? Here’s my review 😀

Renee: My first M/m/f book was Nicole Edwards Club Destiny Series Oh how hard I fell in love with Sierra, Luke, and Cole …the whole series actually I was a little worried about reading the m/m parts as I just thought it would feel me out That said I don’t know what I was so worried about because it’s so beautifully written you just fall in love with their love story

Stephnie: Sinners Double Time (Sinners on Tour Book 5) by Olivia Cunning. Although it is book 5 of Sinners on Tour.

Stephnie: Yep, one of the first series I read after getting back into reading.

LucyLou: Just finished Double Time and LOOOOVED IT! Even though the story was out of order, I really really enjoyed reading about Trey, Reagan and Ethan. Reagan says it all with this quote: “Trey rocked her world. And Ethan made it spin.”

Erica: Hard Rock Harlots by Kendall Grey has some in the 2nd and 3rd book. But I would read the whole series in order.

Kendall: There’s also MMF in the fourth Hard Rock Harlots book, Rock (Hard Rock Harlots Book 4). 😁

Tammy: Erica, one of my favorite series. EVER.

Jean: I love the Hard Rock Harlots series! …It’s one of those rocker series you will never forget! So different! Raunchy and hot!

Sharon: I Just finished The Billionaire Bad Boys Club (The Billionaires Book 1) by Emma Holly (I have missed her books) and it is recommendation worthy! It actually had a good story with tons of steamy you-know-what! M/M, M/F, M/M/F, M/F/M, just what I have been looking for! Two high school friends meet and bond over abusive fathers. They make it big and meet their girl.

Amy: “M/M, M/F, M/M/F, M/F/M, just what I have been looking for!” <——– This, my friends, is me liking that comment. O.M.G. that was hilarious. *cackling*

Kelly: The Texas siren series by Lexi Blake. Also her Nights in Bliss series crosses over. The are all trios. Some are MMF others are MFM.

Lisa: if you can handle really erotic MMMF triangles (actually, I think that’s a quadrangle), there is a 3 book series I recently read – Curing Doctor Vincent, Surviving Doctor Vincent and Loving Doctor Vincent by Renea Mason. He (the doctor) is unable to have sex with a woman for a particular reason (which you later learn), but he finds the girl and wants her. He enlists the help of his two super duper sexy hot-damn alpha best friends to help him “love” her. You kind of have to have an open mind about polyamorous relationships…but it’s hot hot hot!!! I floved it, and it opened up a whole new genre to me!!!

Tessa: …they aren’t your typical MMF. There is far more to go through as far as what’s going on. …It is an “everyone together” type rather than two guys with the same girl. Though, again, I have to finish the last one, American King. After the last one, my heart is all scared to read it.

Kylie: Naughty Wishes Part I by Joey W. Hill (it’s a 4-part book but I think she’s releasing it as a single book eventually).

Melissa: Tymber Dalton’s Love Slave for Two (Siren Publishing Menage Amour with Manlove) series is fabulous too

Carrie: Tymber Dalton Love Slave for Two series. It’s another sharing a girl but the love between the men is strong. And the trip they take in the RV is hilarious!!!

Erica: 69 Bottles series by Zoey Derrick

Nicole: 69 Bottles (by Zoey Derrick) books 1-3 are in a box set… I have only ready #1 so far but it was good. I see above that #4 is out. I will have to get all caught up now! 🙂

Amy: That’s all kinds of crazy hotness Nicole! It says M/M/F, M/F/M, M/F, F/M, M/M…dang!! 😛

Katherine: 69 Bottles… I really like this rock star series – especially how the previous couples still overlap into the current story.

Joy: I just finished 321…. I LOVED IT!!! I didn’t want to put it down, so if you’re wavering on whether to one-click it… JUST DO IT!!! It’s not going to appeal to everyone, so be warned

Karen: Rule of Three is a Menage read, which is out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed it.

Michele: Beyond Her Desire (A Beyond Surrender Romance Book 3) by Nicky F. Grant … It was a great book! One of my favorite reads this year!

You just have to love an introduction that makes you sit up and say Well hello there…and that’s how you meet Fox. Loving this book!!

Hill (2 amazing books with the same characters – Gideon, Daegan & Anwyn – part of the Vampire Queen series although you could read them both as a standalone from the others in this series). Also in this series is Taken By A Vampire: A Vampire Queen Series Novel by Joey W.Hill. Again, amazing read

Musette: Joey W Hill writes like no other author…she has spoiled me for anyone else now!!! Can’t recommend the Vampire Queen series highly enough…the best vampire books ever (yes, even better than BDB..forgive me JRW!). I love all Joey’s books…but the Vampire Queens are my absolute faves of hers, especially Vampire Mistress and Trinity, #5 & #6 in the series. Definitely top of the ‘must read’ list!

Vanessa: If you enjoy erotica or erotic/romance you HAVE to read anything by Joey W. Hill. Her Vampire Queen Series and Nature of Desire Series are amazing!

Sharon: BTW – Sugar Daddies by Jade West? Nice surprise there! Yes, it was a little kinky. It had MMF, which I enjoy, but the story was actually good and it was a bargain. I now need something light.

Anna: I also loved Genetic Attraction by Tara Lain – it’s an MMF, story ultimately, but the M/M portion of it is very strong, and one of the guys is straight only for the female in the story, so it’s an interesting reversal of the GFY.
