Comfort Object (Comfort series)
Well this was fun in a “can’t-put-it-down-even-though-I’m-cringing-and-so-often-appalled” kind of way! WARNING. This book is not for everyone. I had mixed reactions from some of my reader friends (some who really enjoyed it and some who hated the “hero” far too much to enjoy it). And while I can agree that this kind of bad-boy would probably have anyone running for the hills, in real life (he’s just so UGH!!!!), I will admit from the safety of my couch, I read through it like a fiend. I just had to see where this was going, and how it was going to end. But please. Don’t go into this book lightly. As I re-read some scenes for this review, I’m back to being appalled again. All in one sitting, you get the whole effect, but piecing it out like this… YIKES!!!

Book Review – Strangers by Barbara Elsborg
Strangers: Ellora’s Cave
This was good!! Really good. Buuttt… I was able to put it down and go to sleep without dreaming about them. For the most part, I didn’t get to “live” them. Though this certainly all changed with the last quarter. WOW! I totally became one with the book at that point. I could feel everything and it was a whirlwind of a hot mess! So while I enjoyed it in it’s entirety, the beginning and the end were what truly got me (the middle… left me irritated).
Latest Author and Book News – November 15th 2011 – Plus! The Kindle Fire Is Shipping!
Lots of cool tidbits today… and look. Amazon announced that the Kindle Fire is shipping (I think I read that it started shipping a day early, even)!
- Oooooh some awesome J.R. Ward updates about Tohr’s book (Lover Reborn – expected release date March 2tth 2012). These are lost in a sea of Facebook posts on her page, but I remembered seeing and thinking “Oh!! I have to immortilize those tidbits on my blog forever.” So I searched and I searched and I found ’em!! First an update on the length of the book:
“Well it’s a official! Tohr is off to New York- on the final count he came in at 194,057 words/813 pages- which is just short of Rehv, but definitely longer than John Matthew by a healthy margin. Balled at the end- just f’in balled even though I knew what to expect- there’s one scene in particular that gets me EVERY time!”

Strangers: Ellora’s Cave
Despite my “wonky work week” (which will actually be stretching into two wonky work weeks by the looks of it), I have still been reading. Never fear!! Wonky works weeks don’t mean I’ll be missing in action or anything (just a bit more erratic then usual 😉 ) . In all actuality, my “overtime” weeks find me reading the most as I desperately need a book to help me unwind.
Now of course, I’m not racing through the books like I normally do, but I’m happily reading one right now that I just started and will probably finish tonight (if it’s good enough, that is, to keep me up late).
Frequently Asked Question: Should I Read The Chronicle’s of Nick YA Series Within Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter Series?
Some have asked why I have included Sherrilyn Kenyon’s “Chronicles of Nick” YA series, within my Dark-Hunter/Were-Hunter/Dream-Hunter reading order guide, and if it’s absolutely necessary to read them to keep up with the series? After all, that series is about Nick as a teen, and not the adult “Nick” we’ve come to know in the Dark-Hunter world. How would his “teen” books be relevant within the adult Dark-Hunter series?
I’ve listed her books in the order that they are written by the author (and/or intended to be read), and while Nick’s books take place in a different “time” from the Dark-Hunter books, after I read them, I realized… Nick’s books DO fall into place. They are important. Nick’s series provides a little insight into the Dark-Hunter’s past, and better yet, a deeper look into his own past when he erroneously became involved in their world.
