Following my heart, one book at a time...
Eden (the Providence series)
Woooohoooo!! Time to read! The third and final book in the Providence trilogy is ready and waiting for us! Print edition was released a week or so ago, but the digital version is up right now!!
Off I go!!! Consider this my “Currently reading…” post.
This one helped jumpstart me after a somewhat difficult reading week (a few starts and stops… I just couldn’t pin down exactly what I was in the mood for). Does that ever happen to you? You want to read. You’re bored just sitting not reading. You watch tv. You try movies. You definitely start a few books you’ve been anxious to read. And yet, even though you know *normally* you’d totally be into it, for some reason… you’re just stalled. I had that happen this week. I think it’s because I’ve got so many TBR’s almost fighting each other at the top of the list (I wanna read ’em all), that I start one and wonder if I’d rather be starting another. I’m trying to devour ’em all up at once, and wondering if I’m missing out on that one that’s still sitting there… waiting for me. I’m being a book-hog. So many choices and suddenly I’m indecisive. I guess that’s a good thing, though. 😉
I’m not much of a crier… or so I like to think. I mean, honestly!! I’ve read a TON of books over the years (especially in the last three) and I can only recall a handful that affected me to full-blown tears. Oh sure, some of ’em made me teary-eyed, but I’m talking about the kind of tears that can’t be easily controlled with a dab or two. The kind that make your face crumple.
Oh yah… you know it!! Once you face does that, you’re a goner. LOL! Some even went so far as to affect me to the point that I couldn’t cry, even though my whole emotional world was flipped on it’s head (The Hunger Games trilogy, Where She Went and even the latest book that I loved… “Stolen“). They affected me so much, and yet… I just stared. As if I was in shock. No tears. I think they blew my “tear-fuse”.
Connected (Twists of Fate Book 1)
Another rock star book! Loved this!! Woooo hoooo!! I was made aware of it by both Jessica and Jane when I was searching for another bad boy book:
Jessica: Jolyn Palliata’s Connected (Twist of Fate Series) Dead rock star’s soul stuck in your body and mind, yes please!
Maryse’s Book Blog: OHHHHHH Jessica!! You said the magic word! Rock Star. HOT!!!
Jane: Something lighter, funnier, shorter. Something Rock Star-y perhaps? I have just the thing 🙂 … It’s a novella, so it’s a quick – but hot – read. You should read it. Seriously 🙂
Loved the first two books!! Angels, demons and humans that are the key to something BIG!! Nina’s “normal” world will never be what it once was, once Jared makes his way into her life, but no matter what danger is lurking in the background, the underlying emotional tug of war between two very worthy men remains in the forefront. Fate plays a HUGE role in this series, in fact, it’s based on it. But what if these very characters are misunderstanding “fate” and possibly harming themselves in the process? This one is full of sweet, romantic and downright heartbreaking moments between two star-crossed lovers that were never meant to be… or were they?
