Another day of being human. What shame. Maryse told me my vampire powers should be kicking in soon, osmosis at it’s best ya know. If anything reading the House of Night series has set me back. I know tons of people out there love it, but let me tell you, it’s no Vampire Academy. Such a shame, because I had high hopes. In better news I have found some new books to read.
Title: Hex Hall Book One by Rachel Hawkins (YA)
What’s going on: Girl finds out she is a witch, does a love spell wrong, gets sent to “Freak High” for the paranormal. Why I want to read it: Witches! I mean I am a Harry Potter nerd squared….so a school full of freaks that include faeries, witches, weres and an outcast vampire? Count me in!
What I am reading today
Still Reading Shadowfever and LOVING it!
Quick update. I am almost halfway through Karen Marie Moning’s Shadowfever (but it’s a long book so there are plenty of hours left for me in Mac’s world). That’s a good thing. First chapter was intense (it’s what we’ve all been waiting for folks, – the author doesn’t leave us hanging) and overall, the first quarter was interesting and (and confusing) but it sure picks up after that.
Join me on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MarysesBookBlog) , while I “microblog” about it, and let’s chat! No spoilers though. I LOVE surprises, and I’ve already heard there are a few more coming my way…
Currently Reading…
I’m back from my weekend business excursion, and as usual, I was so busy that I barely had a chance to read. It works out fine though, since I’m saving myself for Barrons, and really shouldn’t get caught up in another series just yet 😉
Whaaaaaa? Did you just ask “who’s Barrons?”. Why he’s the absolute hottest, and most emotionally aggravating hero of my 2010 reading experience. He’s the one that makes you sigh and grrrrr in frustration at the same time. You sigh cause he *almost* said something sweet, but then his hard-ass ‘tude ruins it. Well… in my case, it really just solidifies my crush, but to each her own as they say 😉
My Reading Progress 2011
This is my list ( I love making ’em) of the books I’m reading this year, to help me keep track. I read 76 in 2010. Let’s see if I can beat it!

Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, Book 2)
Not many updates from me on the “book front” these days, but only because I have been kidnapped by the never-ending, Christmas-spirited, shopping-monster (aka my husband 😉 )
This is my husband’s favorite time of the year, and he quite literally turns into a character in one of those Disney-Christmas-specials (all jovial and excited, planning decorations, and Christmas capers). Considering we live in Florida, and that “White Christmas” feeling never really comes to fruition, it’s an even bigger job for us to get into the Christmas spirit.
