The Kind Worth Killing: A Novel
Another psych-thriller highly recommended by my “psych-thriller” crew, and I drove Sadie nuts when I just wouldn’t read it. LOL!!!! Months and months and months, she’d bring it back to our book-discussions and remind me… in a book-slump? THIS ONE.
Sadie: When are you going to listen to me with my psych thriller reccos? i am throwing large sacks of peanuts did you start either of them?

The Mistake I Made: A Novel
Somewhat of a psych-thriller (well, no… most certainly a psych-thriller) but with a little less of the *oomph* than I was looking for. That said, the writing was terrific, and I was still VERY much into it.
I devoured it, even if I found myself mostly always disgruntled with all of the characters. It was hard to like anyone (even the “good guys”), but what I did love was that it was entirely from the first person POV (hers!!!). I also loved that, while the downward spiral snowballed and had me feeling terribly anxious at times, it was super easy to follow!
Cocky Bastard
Okay so this is definitely one of my new favorite super funny, slightly angsty, but full on “new-adult feel” reads. Just a well rounded, fantastically written story, that flowed so well, I can’t even tell when one author stopped writing, and the other author kicked in.
A great pairing, both in authorship AND in main characters, and WE LOVE IT!!
Maryse: Okay I’m already chuckling with glee reading Cocky Bastard, and I’m only in the first few pages. Tee hee!!!
She Dims the Stars
This author has written yet another charming, heartfelt “new adult” book with a touch of angst that we’ve come to love in our sweet-romance repertoire. It delivers that wonderful feel of a mysterious past (with the promise of a big reveal), meaningful connections (whether old or new), plenty of chuckles, and a strength in true friendship, that overcomes all obstacles.
Considering how much I loved “Puddle Jumping” (also by this author), it was already on my TBR list. But when Celeste commented HIGHLY recommending it (and she and I have VERY similar taste in books, and she’s picky, which I love!!), I knew it had to be now!
Unseen Messages: a survival romance novel
Having never read, yet but heard so much about this author’s trademark “dark romance reads” I was very excited when I found our she wrote THIS one. ‘Cause it’s about a plane crash on a deserted island, and if there’s anything I love more than a dark read, it’s one about survival, and all of the precarious and scary stuff that goes with it.
And even more so when it involves a real companionship between people that may never have given each other the time of day before such an event. But it’s that bond, the care and eventually love of each other that provides them equal (if not more) sustenance than the sparse food and water does. Because it feeds their lonely souls. Imagine being completely alone on a deserted island with no help, nobody to talk to and no way of knowing if you’ll ever be rescued? For days… months, or even years on end? Gah… that thought alone makes me feel like I’m suffocating!
