Book Review – Old Blood by Karina Halle

Old Blood – A Novella (Experiment in Terror #5.5) (*slight spoiler alert* for those of you who are not familiar with this series yet, skip this review and scroll all the way to the bottom for everything I’ve written about it. I LOVE THIS series, just thought I’d let you know). 😉

A great short read to fill in many of the blanks concerning Dex and Perry and their mutual tie to “Pippa”. This is Pippa’s story in great detail. I’m sure the majority of EIT fans have already read this one, and/or remember Pippa, but just in case you haven’t yet, and need a refresher, Pippa is… “creepy clown lady”. read more

Book Review – If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones

If I Were You (Inside Out Trilogy)
Of course, you can imagine I was really excited to get to this book considering the “Fifty Shades” was hinted at in regards to the genre, and mood of this book. This one’s a totally different story, but yep I can definitely see it in some ways. The misunderstood millionaire (and emotionally damaged) hero, and the “normal” girl possibly getting in over her head. Not *quite* to that intensity and emotion, at least not yet since Fifty Shades, to me, was an emotionally deep and addicting love story right from the start. read more

Well well well… what do we have here? Why yes!! A book that has a little of everything that I love in my reads, markedly… that “broken hearted millionaire tycoon that will do whatever it takes to get what he wants” feel. Remind you of anyone? 😉

Book Review – Giving It Up by Amber Lin

Giving It Up (The Lost Girls)
Well… wow! This one was so great. And I’ve got my own silly little anecdote to tell. “Giving It Up” was just recently recommended by Tiffany on my Facebook page, saying:

“I finished reading Giving it up by Amber Lin and I Really Loved it!!! It came out in June so Not sure if Maryse already reviewed it..But im sure if she did..She Prob Loved it as Well!! Good Stuff!!”

Well… I hadn’t read it, but when I read the premise, I thought to myself… HECK YAH!!! This was definitely a Maryse-like read. And something about it seemed familiar. I had obviously looked up this book before, because I realized it was already on my TBR list. So I bought it, read it and reviewed it. And as I was searching for Tiffany’s recommendation, I came across an email. Now I know why it seemed so familiar. The author herself had already sent me a review copy. *sigh* I have to wrangle my crazy-book list. Well, either way, purchased directly or sent to me by the author, I loved it! read more

Book Review – Seducing Cinderella by Gina L. Maxwell

Seducing Cinderella: A Fighting for Love Novel (Entangled Brazen)
A quick, sweet, funny, easy & wonderfully priced read. And!! It features an MMA champion UFC fighter. Fictional, of course 😉 hehe. But still, wonderful to imagine, and so fun to experience his delicious alpha-male reactions. A touch of bad-boy arrogance, cocky attitude, and jealous possessiveness that had even him surprised!

And what I loved most? Well, the developing connection of course, but… the dialogue pleased me, especially what he said, and the way he said it. I believed his growly ways and his ticking jaw. Only once or twice did I roll my eyes a bit, but overall, a great short “in-between” read. Enticing enough that you finish it in one sitting, but not so tormenting or angsty that you can’t move on to another read right after. read more
