August 16, 2015 By Maryse 13 Comments

<— I KNOW this one set many in our reading crew ON FIRE!!!! Dark, gritty, raw + a bossy alpha jerk (bad guy??). Sounds like fun! But there was lots of moaning over the fact that everyone had to wait for book #2 (guess King had a killer cliffhanger). 😉

Well guess what? We are on Book #3 now, ’cause IT. IS. LIVE TODAY!!!!

Marit: OMG OMG OMG!!!! I’m 22% into KING by T.M Frazier! Guys, you HAVE to read this book I’m going crazy and I can’t go to sleep now! He’s so HOT and bossy..and she’s so vulnerable. *Squeeeeeee* read more

Bullies To Love – The Ultimate List of Bully Romance Books!

July 20, 2015 By Maryse 71 Comments

UPDATED 04-30-2019 (scroll down about halfway until you see the updated date notice). 😀 !!!

And also, here are all the posts tagged “Bossy Bullies” on the blog.

Ahhhh so many of us are not just fans of bad boys, but of book-guys that are absolutely horrid in the beginning. To us… er… I mean HER. You know why I think that is? ‘Cause it’s so much fun to uncover what makes him such a jerk in the first place, and also even more fun when the one person that we couldn’t stand (or that we feared most, in whatever way…), becomes our very best friend… and more. read more

In need of a Good Alpha Male Book? Latest Reader Recommendations…

May 15, 2015 By Maryse 26 Comments

This one started out as a “reader question” but the great recommendations just kept coming, so I made it a list, instead.

Now of course we are ALL looking for alpha-male books, ’cause that’s pretty much our thing, isn’t it? 😉 Alpha romance? US!! It’s a given. It’s much of what brought all of us readers together. Our love of Alpha McBossypants heroes that infuriate us, and then turn around and give us butterflies in our stomach. BEST. FEELING. EVER.

But let’s thank these two readers that have re-activated our love of good alpha-lists, and the books that make ’em! read more

Reader Question – Book suggestions about heroes that treat her bad because he doesn’t know how to handle his feelings…

October 12, 2014 By Maryse 25 Comments

Genre request!! This fellow reader has a penchant for “book-jerks”. Tee hee! Don’t we all? 😉

But that’s because we love the drama of the wondering… of the “OH NO HE DIDN’T” moments, of the cocky bad-boy moments, the romantic indifference, the seemingly unrequited love, and then… the sweeeeet relief when the love finally allllll comes together. YES!!!

But make it hurt first, right? And a maybe a little after… too.

So Viki asks:

Hi there! …I am in need of a great book about an a$$hole guy who love a girl but treats her bad because he doesnt know how to handle his feelings for her. But I like happy endings lol read more

Book Review – Bully by Penelope Douglas

Bully: The Fall Away Series
I received a seriously adamant recommendation for this book from a fellow reader (and friend) that I feel like I’ve known for years now. A frequent commenter, an avid reader, and while I don’t specifically remember her ever freaking out over a specific book, when she went nuts over this one (and then I noticed others chiming in with their own love for it), I dropped everything and ran to it. I mean, come on y’all!! She *squeeeeed*. If it makes you squee… just sayin’. 😉 read more
