Book Review – Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn

Nine Minutes
This one is making waves (everyone appears to be loving it) and it sure was good! Biker book/kidnap book that gave me chills from the start. I mean… wow, right? Hopping on the back of a stranger’s bike and realizing he’s not taking you where you asked him to? Eeeeeep!!! Then… arriving at the biker compound and realizing there is no going back. She was kidnapped.

Yep. I was IN!

I was in for pretty much all of it, and I read with gusto, ’cause I knew *something* blew everyone’s mind at some point, and I couldn’t wait for that reaction. read more

Book Review – Prisoner by Skye Warren and Annika Martin

Prisoner (Criminals & Captives Book 1)
I love Skye Warren and was quite delighted to try a new author that co-authored this dark read with her. Well… I say “dark” lightly as this isn’t as dark as our usual. But definitely had that captivating “”bad-guy” thrill element that we love so much.

And while the premise did have that certain ring of familiarity to it (I loved “Hard Time” <— my review), it quickly took us on it’s own version of an exciting-scary romp. Good read, but not necessarily unputtdownable for me. I was way more into the first half… and while the second half was good, I wanted more of… well… the first half. 😉 read more

Book Review – Harder by Robin York

Harder: A Novel (Caroline & West Book 2)
This was a great sequel to the book that had me absolutely on edge this week, in love and in emotional angst! Book #1 (Deeper) set my heart on fire, and gave me a perpetual stomach ache, and had all of that realism that I crave in “new adult” novels, but alas… it left me in a heartache lurch.

And Harder (this book!) twisted that knife in my gut just a little harder. A little longer. And for a good portion of the story. 😉

Aimee: Thing I loved most about this book is how genuine Caroline and West felt as people. I fell into “being” each of them within seconds of the shift in POV. Too real! read more

Book Review – Deeper by Robin York

Deeper: A Novel (Caroline & West Book 1)
<— 5 stars for this one my friends. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!! I was SO involved, so into it, that I didn’t even realize how long it was (over 400 pages!!). Bev and MichelleS LOVED and recommended it promising a 5-star read, and boy did it deliver!

It wasn’t drawn out, or repetitive. Everything in this story had it’s place. It’s purpose. And it allowed me to truly get to know these characters and fully indulge in all sorts of emotional angst (but ALL within reason). The heartwarming scenes, the kindle-throwing moments, the realizations. The despair, the strength. The growth. I experienced it all, and I “got” them. read more

Book Review – Relentless Rhythm by Michelle Mankin

Relentless Rhythm (Tempest #4)
<— Well I couldn’t help myself with that blurb. I’ve been paying attention to the releases in this series for awhile now, but for some reason… I haven’t read any of ’em, yet.

Until this one. Yep. I started at the end. LOL! And it read well as a standalone (although I do feel I would have been better served to read all of ’em, and get to know the entire cast of characters that were a part of these members’ lives). read more
