Thanks for the suggestion, guys! Overall, I enjoyed it well enough. Definitely my “genre”, and the writing was good. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to connect. I think I hit the 50-something percent mark when I finally felt a bit of that “reading excitement”. You know… that feeling when you realize you’re not going to put the book down any more? After a few starts and stops (it took me a couple of days to read it) once I hit the second half I read straight through. Considering the reader-enthusiasm when it was first suggested, I knew *something* was coming, so I didn’t necessarily mind the buildup.

We’ve enjoyed a bunch of “What to Read After Fifty” options, and the Crossfire series was by far the obvious first and most perfect choice, but… we have another winner! It’s been months, and we’ve been questing and we’ve done good. *nods* We have. But to finally get another full length trilogy (with already two books out, and #3 coming soon) which appears to be the perfect blend of Fifty Shades and Crossfire… well, what more could we ask for?

Avoiding Responsibility (book #2 in the Avoiding Series)
I read this one back in the day when it was free on Fictionpress and what a crazy reading week that was!! We all pretty much…went nuts together, having no clue what we were in for. Thank goodness we had each other for support (you can check out my review of book#1 – Avoiding Commitment, and you’ll see what I mean).
This series mentally exhausted and drained me, and yet… while I was growling furiously, I was also grinning with devilish glee! Ohhhh the delicious, ridiculous emotional pain. 😉

<—- And that title does NOT lie. I literally squawked with titillated glee when I read the title, and after reading the synopsis? I knew it absolutely had to be mine the minute it was released. After all, I loved this author’s “Redhead” series, so I had an idea of what I was in for.
“… When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Book Review – With Everything I Am by Kristen Ashley
With Everything I Am (The Three Series)
Loved it! So very good, with plenty of emotional detail. As with many of Kristen Ashley’s books she really lets you into the character’s head, and even more, into their hearts. The reader really gets to experience the emotions at full force, and this one was no exception.
While I was able to put it down every once in awhile (I needed a break, sometimes from the over-thinking heroine), I was fully connected to every character. Oh sure, I may have found myself annoyed with her for mentally re-hashing her insecurities over and over again. For purposefully sabotaging her dream, and breaking her own heart, because of her self doubt, instead of just… you know. Telling HIM about what she was thinking. 😉
